Zack Snyder Reveals Henry Cavill's Black Superman Suit

The director reveals our first look at Henry Cavill’s Black Suit from the infamous “Snyder cut

Zack Snyder’s original cut of Justice League has become a holy grail of sorts for fans of the DC Universe. The DC superhero smackdown was supposed to be DC’s rival to the Avengers, instead, the departure of Snyder from the project allowed Warner Bros. to bring in Joss Whedon who pretty much reshot the majority of the movie leaving the entire project in disarray.

Justice League | The #ReleaseTheSnyderCut Campaign Gains Momentum

In the years that followed, the “Release the Snyder Cut” campaign has proven its staying power with fans calling for Snyder’s original cut of the movie to be released in entirety. In recent weeks, even the stars of the movie have come out in support of its release all of who have been backed by the director himself. And now, he’s back to stir the pot once again.

The director has taken to Vero to release an all-new image of Henry Cavill dressed in the iconic Black Superman suit made famous in the Doomsday comic series. The suit was set to feature heavily in the original cut of Justice League until Whedon eradicated it from his cut and broke the hearts of fans the world over. Check it out below:

Now it’s important to remember that Snyder was the man responsible for Superman’s attire in Justice League. In fact, the majority of the “Snyder Cut” is reported to feature Superman in the black suit only switching back to his traditional attire at the opportune moment. However, this new image gives us a taste of what might have been and will only stoke the fires within the hearts of “Release the Snyder Cut” campaigners everywhere.

Now, I do not proclaim to be the biggest Zack Snyder fan. In fact, I can just about tolerate Man of Steel, and as much as the ultimate edition of Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice improved upon the theatrical cut, something about the movie still doesn’t sit right with me. But, I find myself firmly rooted in the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut camp. It is high time the fans are rewarded with the cut they deserve and an artists vision be shown as intended. With the continuity of the “Snyder-Verse” now dissolved, releasing the “Snyder Cut” will do no harm to the current crop of DC movies filling multiplexes around the world and would undoubtedly boost the revenue stream for Warner Bros.

Either way, love it or hate it, the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign is gaining momentum with fans and stars alike, and as long as the protestations signify a united fanbase campaigning for an artists work to be presented as intended then surely there is no reason not to fulfil the wishes of the masses.

Until then, the DC slate is packed full of awesomeness with Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, The Flash, The Batman and Aquaman 2 all headed our way in the coming years. But leading the charge is Birds Of Prey which flies into cinemas from February 7th 2020. See, plenty of awesomeness still to come!
