Hasbro…where are all the Grand Admiral Thrawn action figures?

Where Is Thrawn?

That is the question being asked by the fans and collectors of the Star Wars action figure range from Hasbro. The third wave of figures from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has been long anticipated in the fan community and when the import retailer Star Action Figures received their consignment, the fans rejoiced with excitement.

With figures like Bodhi Rook, Death Trooper, Scarif Trooper and Jyn Erso (Imperial Disguise) all included in the range, the fans had a lot to look forward to, but the figure that almost every fan has been waiting for is Star Wars Rebels antagonist Grand Admiral Thrawn. The awesome team at Star Action Figures received a limited supply that appeased their pre-order sales but once word got out, the assortment soon disappeared. A lucky few managed to obtain the entire wave with a small group of fans obtaining a Thrawn but most us missed out on the opportunity and were forced to wait for them to hit the retail shelves.

Fast forward three weeks and the figures have FINALLY begun to appear on the retail outlet shelves with supermarket giant Tesco first to receive their stock. Every variation of figure was found in abundance, save one…Grand Admiral Thrawn. One week later, Walmart owned supermarket giant Asda received their consignment and swiftly added the figures to their shelves, but at a heavily discounted rate. Every figure was reduced to just £6 except for Bodhi Rook who was sold for as little as £2.25 but, absent from the shelves once again was…you guessed it…Grand Admiral Thrawn.

The Future of the Force team are now receiving feedback from across the globe that has us ringing the alarm bells.

Our readers have confirmed that upon witnessing a fresh case of figures being unboxed in store, the elusive Grand Admiral Thrawn IS NOT inside the box and unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident. We are getting reports every day confirming the same information from a far afield as the United States to our nearby friends in continental Europe. Action figure manufacturer Hasbro, the toy company awarded the contract for our beloved Star Wars figures, are remaining tight lipped on his shortage which is even more alarming.

Another rumour suggests that the figure has been recalled due to a mistake on the rank insignia but this has yet to be confirmed. We have contacted Hasbro to clarify this ongoing problem and as soon as we hear from them we will update this article. In the meantime, check out the comparison picture below which reveals the mistake:

Future of the Force co-founder Stewart Gardiner recently looked into the strange lack of Thrawn’s and forwarded a viable conspiracy theory. Check it out:

For reasons unknown, the legendary Grand Admiral Thrawn, Imperial antagonist of both the Expanded universe and Star Wars Rebels is not arriving on the shelves when he should be. For him not to be packed in the boxes with the rest of the line is both a troublesome prospect and a mystery.

If you have managed to get your hands on one, congratulations.

Unfortunately for us all, the quest continues for a figure that not one of us can find. The hunt is on, on both sides of the Atlantic but with Hasbro maintaining radio silence we are all searching blind hoping to strike gold. We can only hope that Hasbro issue a statement in the coming days explaining this inexplicable shortage, but until then we are left to play the Game of Thrawns.

If you manage to hunt him down, please share the news with us.

Until then…

May The Force Be With You
