John Carpenter’s iconic theme is resurrected for the 2018 sequel
With the countdown on to the release of the highly anticipated sequel to John Carpenter’s pioneering classic Halloween, fans have been wondering whether or not the iconic theme would be reprised.
With John Carpenter himself on hand to influence the score expectations were high, and with the movie itself getting rave reviews from the lucky few chosen to get a sneak peek at the Toronto Film festival we are set for a fantastically chilling ride when the movie arrives this October.
Thankfully, the wait is over. The team over at Sacred Bones Records have unveiled “The Shape Returns” a single track from the soundtrack which arrives on digital download on the 19th October. Composed by John Carpenter, Cody Carpenter, and Daniel Davies.
Enjoy:
Despite the tedium of past reboots and sequels, the return of John Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis and Nick Castle will undoubtedly re-energize the franchise and bring the Halloween story full circle. After all, everybody deserves on good scare – and this Halloween, we will all get the chance to come face to face with the personification of terror in Michael Myers.
Halloween returns to the big screen on October 19th.
