MAFEX Review | Captain Phasma Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Her troops will storm this block and kill you all…if you don’t add this incredible figure to your collection…

Almost one year after the theatrical release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, MAFEX has finally released its action figure of the notorious Captain Phasma. Like the S.H. Figuarts incarnation of the character, the MAFEX one isn’t a repack of The Force Awakens version, it’s an improvement.

This figure comes with some nice accessories – 8 interchangeable hands, the blaster rifle, the blaster pistol, the baton staff (in attack mode) and the baton staff in the inactive mode to attach on the belt. The two blasters can be attached to her leg. The weapons are nicely detailed and the two blasters are shiny just like the figure’s armor.

MAFEX has really nailed it with Phasma’s armor, it’s super shiny like it is in the movie. This one doesn’t feel like it’s a piece of plastic trying to imitate silver. It’s something that both Hasbro and S.H. Figuarts haven’t been able to achieve for this character so MAFEX have raised the bar here. The helmet is amazingly sculpted as well. And the cape is fabric lined with wire inside it allowing you to position it the way you want and achieve that perfect pose.

MAFEX also got the scale completely right, it’s a really tall figure like the character is in the movies and you can see the comparison with the S.H. Figuarts figure, it’s much taller. It’s an imposing figure!

Up Close:

Phasma comes with 22 points of articulation. As the cape is in fabric and very light, you can pose the figure the way you want without any problems.

Final Thoughts:

I’ve waited a long time for this figure but the wait was worth it. It’s excellent on every level, I’m really impressed! If you intend to buy only one version of Phasma from The Last Jedi, it has to be this one!
