John Rambo will wage war on the box office for the final time on September 20, 2019.
Great news for all Sylvester Stallone and action movie fans – the fifth Rambo film is hitting screens September 20th this year.
The film entitled Rambo: Last Blood is expected to be Stallone’s swansong as the eponymous Vietnam veteran. The story follows Ex-Soldier John Rambo into what sounds like his final battle, rescuing a friends daughter from a vicious Mexican Drug Cartel. The Rambo saga started back in 1982 with the original First Blood. Stallone last played the character back in 2008 in the fourth film, simply entitled ‘Rambo’.
Adrian Grunberg directs the film from a screenplay by Sylvester Stallone & Matt Cirulnick. Kevin King Templeton and Les Weldon produce for Lionsgate Studios.
Rambo: Last Blood:
When the daughter of one of his friends is kidnapped, Rambo (Stallone) — who has been working on a ranch — crosses the U.S.-Mexico border and quickly finds himself up against the full might of one of Mexico’s most violent cartels.
Starring alongside Stallone will be Adriana Barraza, Paz Vega, Yvette Montreal, Sergio Peru’s-Mencheta, Oscar Jaenada and Joaquin Cosio.
No news yet on who will score the film. Brian Tyler composed the score for the last film, adding his own music alongside Jerry Goldsmith’s classic music and cues.
Rambo: Last Blood opens on 20th September 2019.
