The director takes to Twitter to personally thank the fans for their endless love and support
Breaking news and quite a surprising turn of events.
If you remember, Marvel famously fired Gunn for some tweets he posted almost a decade ago. Even though Gunn apologised and attempted to make things right, he was unceremoniously dumped. This caused at least one of the main stars of the film, Dave Bautista to fire his anger at the studio in a series of messages expressing his feelings to the point of threatening not to return as Drax for any Marvel movies. This news should appease Bautista and ensure his continuing presence in the Marvel Universe.
No word yet on how this news will affect the production of The Suicide Squad. Gunn has been hired to write and direct the upcoming sequel/Reboot and has rumouredly hired British actor Idris Elba to take over the part of ‘Deadshot’ from Will Smith, who departed the production due to scheduling conflicts. If Gunn moves on to return to the Marvel universe, who knows what this will entail for the DC Film, currently in production.
The director was quick to respond to the news on Twitter and took the opportunity to not only thank Marvel but the legions of fans around the world for the outpouring of love and support during this trying time.
More news will follow as soon as it breaks. Keep tuned to The Future Of The Force for incoming updates on this surprising news.
