The biggest monster movie ever attempted completes is shooting schedule in Australia
Despite Godzilla being scheduled to rage across our screens next month in Michael Dougherty’s highly anticipated Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the greatest Kaiju of all time has a date with the true king of the monsters when the mighty King Kong comes calling next summer.
In what is being described as the biggest Monsterverse showdown of all time, Godzilla vs Kong is set to destroy the box office when the two titans collide on screen for a two-hour monster smackdown. In recent weeks, Warner Bros. changed its current slate and moved up the timetable for the movie which is now scheduled for release on March 13th 2020. And now we are hearing that the movie has officially completed its shooting schedule in Australia which brings the live-action filming to a close.
In a time when monsters walk the Earth, humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
Godzilla vs Kong is directed by Adam Wingard from a screenplay written by Terry Rossio (Pirates Of The Caribbean). The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Eiza Gonzalez, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Demian Bichir, Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Shun Oguri.
I cannot wait for this film. Despite being a devoted Star Wars lover, I have a lifelong love of monster movies thanks to classics like 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Clash of the Titans, King Kong, The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, At The Earth’s Core and Jason and the Argonauts. The imagination of Willis O’ Brien, Edgar Rice Burroughs and the great Ray Harryhausen have contributed to a fantastic legacy of great monster movies and Godzilla vs Kong should take its place as one of the biggest movie events in cinematic history. However, as much as I love Godzilla, in the Monsterverse Kong will always be KING!
Godzilla vs Kong will now be in cinemas on March 13, 2020.
