The Fast & Furious spin-off gets a shot of NOS in the turbocharged new trailer
Ok, so I admit, I was wrong.
I originally thought that upcoming movie Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw looked like a cheap and Cheesy rip off of the Lethal Weapon formula. The first trailer didn’t impress me and other, smaller trailers did nothing to change my mind.
Now, with the release of the new 3 and a half minute long trailer, I find myself beginning to get stoked for the film. Dwayne Johnson And Jason Statham are always watchable but after the first trailer, I couldn’t really see much point in the film. It’s not like it had any real ties to the Fast & Furious saga, did it? It looked like an unnecessary spin-off that wouldn’t really catch my attention. How wrong I was.
The new trailer is utterly brilliant and enjoyable. It now looks like a film that I would gladly sit through for two hours plus. The action and comedy look to be seriously fun in the new trailer and it has the makings of a box office smash.
Is it that which has convinced me to change my opinion? No, it isn’t. It’s because of the fact that the trailer reveals that Vanessa Kirby’s character is, in fact, a Shaw sister! Not content with having Luke Evans as a brother, Jason Statham has expanded his family in the franchise. But the REAL saving grace is THE cameo role that appears halfway through the trailer. Yes, Helen Mirren herself is back for more as the Shaw family’s Mother, this time speaking to her eldest son in prison! Has the matriarch of the family been incarcerated for events from The Fate Of The Furious (or Fast &Furious 8 as the world outside the U.S know the film as)?
All will be revealed when the film opens on August 2nd. And now I can’t wait to get my movie snacks and drink and sit and enjoy what looks to be one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
Until next time.
