Earth’s mightiest heroes finally surpass Avatar at the top of the global box office making Avengers Endgame the most successful movie EVER made
We all thought it was over. We all thought the chance had gone. Despite opening in a massive way, the Disney/MCU film and the culmination of a 22 film arc, ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ looked like it would fall just agonisingly short of toppling James Cameron’s Sci-Fi epic ‘Avatar‘ to become the biggest film of all time. All this despite a re-release designed to attract more audiences to watch it either for the first time or for devoted fans to watch it all over again. It seemed that even Iron Man and companies all-encompassing powers couldn’t quite drag the film over the line and topple Cameron’s arguably all-conquering masterpiece.
We were wrong.
By the time you read this, Endgame will have overtaken Avatar and clinched the crown as highest grossing box office champion of all time. As of Friday evening, the film was only $500,000 away from beating the record. Over 90% of the much-required final push towards glory came from the overseas market that embraced the film and took it into their hearts. At the MCU Phase 4 announcement that happened last night (and overnight across the globe) head honcho Kevin Feige announced the news to the assembled masses at San Diego Comic-Con and to the watching millions across the world via the internet.
We at Future Of The Force would like to send our most heartfelt congratulations to Mr Feige and the entire cast and crews from all 22 movies that have led Avengers: Endgame to this much-deserved achievement.
On a personal note, I would like to offer my own personal congratulations to Mr Feige and the entire MCU for becoming the biggest film at the worldwide box office ever. The film was an absolutely fantastic way to send off many of the characters we came to love and cherish over the past ten years and as many of you know, it has become one of my favourite films of all time. I laughed, I cried and I cheered almost the entire way through the film. Many fist-pumping moments were also witnessed by several audience members including my own family! And yes, I almost wet the cinema seat as Captain America finally uttered those famous words just before the end battle started.
The film deserves its triumph and will go down in history as the powerhouse I predicted it would be. And today, I couldn’t be happier for the filmmakers and the cast and crew. But I reserve my biggest congratulations and thanks to the one person who made it all happen. The man who should rightfully take all the plaudits and reap a lot of the credit for the MCU’s success. So to that one man, I say these final words…
Thank You, Stan.
