The master of horror brings Michael Myers back with an all-new expanded LP
And the hits just keep on coming!
Not being content with executive producing the new Halloween films. Not being content with scoring the films alongside his son, Cody and Daniel Davies, John Carpenter is seeing his score for last years ‘Halloween‘ movie get an expanded release. But here comes the kicker. It won’t be available on Digital download. It won’t be available on CD. The album is a 2 LP release only.
Yes, the expanded score of Carpenter’s return to arguably his greatest ever creation is only going to be available on vinyl Long Playing record. The album will be released on the Sacred Bones label and will be available to buy ready for this Halloween. The release has brand new art and packaging which will include a lenticular sleeve that makes the flames behind Michael Myers move when the record is being removed. This expanded edition will contain 24 extra tracks which will add roughly around 28 minutes of new music to the score.
As I own a vinyl record player, this news is exciting to me as once again, I can collect another piece of Michael Myers merchandise but I can’t help feeling that those fans who do not have the equipment needed to play the score or have access to any will be sadly missing out on what’s bound to be a much sought after item. It is bound to sell out fast and considering there will be a limited edition mail-order version of the set too, the set will be collectable and therefore will increase in value in time.
The set can be pre-ordered from the Sacred Bones website now ahead of its October 18th release. If like me you are a massive Halloween fan, then my advice is to put your order in quickly! I’ve already put mine in and am pleased to have secured what promises to be a great item.
Michael Myers himself demands no less.
Until next time.
