A whole new Thrawn Trilogy from Timothy Zahn caps off another sensational Lucasfilm Panel

The force is definitely strong with the literature from a galaxy far, far away…

Another sensational Publishing Panel from Lucasfilm bought the house down at this year’s New York Comic-Con and delivered a bumper crop of impressive titles which will be emerging from lightspeed and onto bookshelves near you in 2020. Among the big reveals, glimmering like a diamond was the announcement of an all-new trilogy of books from Timothy Zahn. His Thrawn trilogy has captivated the world in recent years, and now, fans can look forward to an entirely new series based upon the notorious Imperial master tactician Grand Admiral Thrawn titled; The Thrawn Ascendancy Trilogy.

Hosting the panel that included some of the biggest Star Wars authors and comic book writers in our galaxy, Lucasfilm Publishing creative director Michael Siglain revealed new titles and, significantly, teased the mysterious “Project Luminous.”

While little is known about Project Luminous, Siglain showed a slide that stated, “The Force is what gives a Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. Until… PROJECT LUMINOUS, 2020.” He also confirmed the involvement of five all-star authors: Claudia Gray, Justina Ireland, Daniel José Older, Cavan Scott, and Charles Soule. Siglain also announced the involvement of various publishers, including Disney Lucasfilm Press, Del Rey, IDW Publishing, and Marvel. Whatever Project Luminous is, it sounds big.

Other big book and comic reveals came in the form of the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker novelization from Rae Carson, and the relaunch of the flagship Marvel Star Wars series now under the guidance of by Charles Soule.
