Get a special look at the end of the Skywalker saga with The Mandalorian: Chapter 7
With The Mandalorian delighting fans around the world on Disney+, It’s no wonder Lucasfilm is eager to cash in on its popularity to build excitement for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The series has been debuting new episodes every Friday on Disney’s new streaming service, but on December 18th all that is about to change. In a recent press release, Disney+ announced that they will be releasing episode seven of The Mandalorian TWO days early on December 18th. Moreover, the episode will include an exclusive sneak peek at J.J Abrams’ climax to the Skywalker saga.
The synopsis for the episode is “An old rival extends an invitation for The Mandalorian to make peace.” Debrah Chow serves as the director for this episode which is set to introduce Giancarlo Esposito’s infamous ex-Imperial warlord Moff Gideon.
This is a smart move from Disney. With The Mandalorian pulling in viewers by the millions, Jon Favreau’s tentpole series is the perfect platform to reach the widest audience possible. Furthermore, this move will undoubtedly lead to speculation regarding a tie-in between the two properties. Of course, this tie-in theory is just us spitballing, but with the canon rulebook being rewritten everyday anything is possible in the Star Wars universe…
The Mandalorian is currently streaming on Disney+ and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker brings the saga to a close from December 19th.
