Will Poulter Exits Amazon's Lord Of The Rings Series

Scheduling conflicts have forced Poulter to exit the adventures of Middle-Earth

The battle for Middle-Earth is about to begin, but without its leading man. Variety is reporting that Will Poulter has left the Amazon Prime Lord of the Rings series due to scheduling conflicts. Amazon recently renewed the Lord of the Rings series for a second season, but the streaming giant also confirmed that production on the series will go on a 4-5 month hiatus following the filming of the first two episodes in order to finalise the story for the following season.

Apparently, this is where the conflict comes into play. The nature of Poulter’s role in the series is still a mystery, but the search for his replacement is already underway and gathering pace. As it stands, current cast members include Markella Kavenagh, Joseph Mawle, Maxim Baldry, and Ema Horvath. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom‘s J.A Bayona is attached to direct multiple episodes.

The Amazon series is set several thousand years before the events of The Fellowship of the Ring during the Second Age dubbed “The Age of Numenor”. Little else is known about the series, or whether Sauron will be making his presence known, however, with the story taking place during the era of his reign it is highly likely that the master of Mount Doom will be casting his eye over proceedings.
