Is Marvel Studios Giving Us a Repeat of 2014?

The Eternals to face-off against The Deviants according to the official synopsis

It’s amazing to think that this year, 2020, we will be entering into Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It doesn’t seem that long ago that we were at the start of the very first phase that began with ‘Iron Man‘. But with the opening of ‘Black Widow‘ later this year, we welcome a new dawn in the universe. Ok, so the first film that starts the fourth phase is about a character who died at the end of the third phase but you get my drift.

Avengers Endgame Black Widow

In early November, we will be introduced to ‘The Eternals‘, another classic Marvel comic that finally gets the big-screen treatment it richly deserves. The film’s synopsis has been revealed finally, giving the fans and the movie-going public the lowdown on what to expect when the film opens:

“Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super-Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants”

Sounds cool, right? The film could go the way of ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy‘ in the sense that many people were unfamiliar with the comic but still turned out in their droves to see the film, making it a massive success for Disney and Marvel Studios. And it could pave the way to easing the pain the audience suffered as the original ‘Avengers‘ took their final bow last year.

Marvel's Eternals Synopsis Revealed

The film stars Angelina Jolie as Thena, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, Brian Tyler Henry as Phastos, Gemma Chan as Sersi, Barry Keoghan as Druig, Don Lee as Gilgamesh, Lia Mchugh as Sprite and Salma Hayek as Ajak. In addition, Kit Harrington will be playing the human superhero, Dane Whitman.

Marvels ‘The Eternals‘ opens November 6th.
