Will Ezra Bridger return in an all-new Disney Plus series?
Now, this is starting to get extremely interesting.
Rumors abound once more about characters from the animated Star Wars universe actually making their debuts in a live-action TV show. We already have confirmation that Ahsoka Tano will be finally coming to life for real in season two of ‘The Mandalorian‘ and now we are hearing that Ezra Bridger, the young wannabe Jedi from the ‘Star Wars: Rebels‘ series will be coming to our screens in the near future. It seems that Disney and Lucasfilm are actively searching for an actor to take up Bridger’s mantle and handle a lightsaber for a show to be aired on Disney+.
If this news is true, then it stands to reason that the makers will probably be looking for an older Bridger and not the young version depicted in the animated show. If we are to take the news as true, then it stands to reason that the events of the show will follow the ending to the animated version. In which case, Disney already will have someone to play Ahsoka in their locker if needed and would need to cast someone as Sabine Wren should the show call for her inclusion. And could there be a place for a Force Ghost Kanan Jarrus somewhere in the mix? All this is pure speculation at the moment but it could turn out to be what the fans of the animated show have been hoping for.
There is no news on whether Dave Filoni or Jon Favreau will be involved in the show but I cannot foresee them not playing a part in the production if it comes to pass. After their sterling work on ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars‘ and ‘The Mandalorian‘ respectively, It would be a major surprise if they didn’t have an involvement in proceedings.
We will keep you up to date on any developments in this story.
