The plot for the ultimate monster smackdown has finally arrived!
Following on from last week’s promo art drop regarding the upcoming ‘Godzilla Vs Kong‘ depicting Kong himself and the new creature, Titanus Camazotz, we have today been treated to the full synopsis of the new movie. While we still wait for a trailer of any kind to drop, the following has given us another tease as to what we can come to expect upon the film’s release on November 20th:
‘In a new world where man and monster now coexist, Monarch must lead the way to a prosperous future alongside the Titans, keeping humanity in check. However, rival factions that want to manipulate the Titans for war begin to rise under the guise of a nefarious conspiracy, threatening to wipe out all life on the planet. Meanwhile, on Skull Island, strange seismic activity draws the attention of Godzilla and Kong alike’
Now, this sounds like what we have been hoping for in the epic final showdown between the King of the Monsters and the true King of them all (Sorry, ‘Zilla). It sounds from this synopsis that plot threads that were spun in last year’s ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters‘ will come to fruition, transforming into the web in which our two Titans will find themselves entangled in. It also lends credence to the theory that the Skull Crawlers will be making at least a guest appearance in the new film. And hopefully, the rumored Mechagodzilla appearance and the return of King Ghidorah (another rumor) will add that last link in the pipeline that will see the ‘Monsterverse‘ go out on a massive high and give the audience a thrill ride that they will love and cherish for years to come.
‘Godzilla Vs Kong‘ stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Brian Tyree Henry, and Rebecca Hall amongst others from a screenplay by Eric Pearson and Max Borenstein. Adam Wingard directs the film for Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures and both companies are behind the film’s release that is still scheduled to be unleashed on the world’s box offices on November 20th.
