The marketing campaign for Russell Crowe‘s chilling psychological thriller moves up a gear…
Would you believe it? You spend all that time making and releasing a poster proclaiming your movie is hitting screens on July 1st, only for the company to push it back. Thankfully though, in the case of the new movie from Academy-Award winning actor Russell Crowe, it’s salvageable. The New Zealand Star’s film, ‘Unhinged‘ was due to open July 1st but will now make its bow on July 10th. So, just whack naught on and it’s all good! Take a look at the poster below:
The synopsis for the film is:
“Rachel (Caren Pistorius) is running late to work when she has an altercation at a traffic light with a stranger (Russell Crowe) whose life has left him feeling powerless and invisible. Soon, Rachel finds herself and everyone she loves the target of a man who decides to make one last mark upon the world by teaching her a series of deadly lessons. What follows is a dangerous game of cat and mouse that proves you never know just how close you are to someone who is about to become unhinged”
After seeing the trailer, I am honestly anxious for the film to open as it looks like a chilling ride through the mind of a man who has had enough and no longer cares. Crowe is always good value and so this film could be another triumph. This psychological thriller looks to be a timely reminder of society’s fragile balance and how something that we experience everyday, road rage, could become the catalyst for our worst fears to manifest themselves.
Directed by Derrick Borte, ‘Unhinged‘ opens July 10th.
