Anakin-Skywalker

Christensen is reportedly set to revive Anakin Skywalker as a series regular

Despite the prequel trilogy coming to a close in 2005, Hayden Christensen is still a major part of the Star Wars universe. He made a triumphant return to Star Wars Celebration last year and lent his vocals to the spirit of Anakin Skywalker for The Rise Of Skywalker – and now rumors are emerging that the actor will be bringing Anakin back once again…

The Balance Series: Part 5 | Prophecy of The Chosen One

It is being reported that Hayden is attached to the hotly anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series as a series regular! You heard right. Not a cameo, not a guest-starring role, a regular recurring cast member. According to LRM, a source close to the series has spilled the beans and confirmed his involvement.

“The biggest news from my source is Hayden is casted as a regular so that means we will be seeing Anakin in more than just a cameo appearance. During early parts of negotiations the role started out as just a cameo appearance. But the growing love of the prequel trilogy and the popularity of The Clone Wars, the role of Anakin has become a bigger part of the Kenobi storyline. There have been multiple theories of how Anakin would be coming back in the Kenobi series, since at the current timeline of the story he is currently Darth Vader. While the overall consensus is that we would see Anakin in some sort of dream sequence that Obi-Wan would have we could also see Anakin in Kenobi’s trials to learn how to become a Force Ghost”

Star Wars | Defining Moments: Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader

Sadly, there is little evidence to substantiate this report. However, if proven to be accurate this would represent a bold step forward for both the series and for prequel fans everywhere. Until the official word arrives from Lucasfilm we should take this report with a VERY BIG pinch of salt. After all, it may amount to little more than hopes and dreams – but the thought of Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor reuniting on screen is a tantalizing prospect.

The Return of Obi-Wan Kenobi | Our Reaction

The untitled Obi-Wan Kenobi series is scheduled to start production in early 2021.  Ewan McGregor is set to reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Deborah Chow has been appointed as the showrunner for the six-episode series.

Exciting times in the galaxy far, far away…
