New Star Wars Films Delayed By A Year / Mulan Delayed Indefinitely

But ‘The New Mutants’ Claims August Release date.

Oh what a day! It was a certainty that Disney would need to delay the release of their live-action remake of ‘Mulan‘ once more but we didn’t expect what has happened. The film has been removed from the release schedules completely and has been put on indefinite postponement, similar to what Warner Bros. has decided for ‘Tenet‘. But where Warners will be releasing a statement regarding their plans for the films eventual release, Disney hasn’t mentioned anything regarding a new date for releasing ‘Mulan‘. The film has been removed from the slate and it must now be in serious doubt that the film will open anytime during 2020.

It has also been announced that due to the current coronavirus pandemic that has swept the world and with cases on the increase once more, the upcoming mystery films in the ‘Star Wars‘ franchise have also been delayed by a year each. The films are now due for release in 2023, 2025 and 2027 respectively. In addition, it has also been confirmed that James Cameron’s ‘Avatar 2‘ has been delayed by a year and will now open in 2022.

But in a surprising twist, at San Diego Comic-Con at home’s live stream of the panel for the long-delayed ‘The New Mutants‘, it has been revealed that the film has been granted an August 28th cinematic release. The film’s director, Josh Boone, and the cast gave the watching viewers the news and also treated them to the first two minutes of the film. Whether it manages to keep the date and finally reach the silver screens around the world remains to be seen, however. I wouldn’t hold out much hope, to be honest.

With the expected delay to ‘Mulan‘ now confirmed, all eyes now turn to fare such as ‘A Quiet Place Part II‘, ‘Wonder Woman 1984‘, ‘Candyman‘, ‘Black Widow‘ and ‘No Time To Die‘ to see if they manage to keep their release schedules or end up having to be delayed once more.
