Jared Leto set to suit up as The Joker for Zack Snyder’s 4-hour DC EPIC!
It is being reported that Oscar-winner Jared Leto is currently filming brand new scenes as The Joker for the upcoming ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League‘ that is currently undergoing additional shooting and preparing to have vital sequences completed ahead of the 2021 unveiling. The news is especially interesting due to the fact that The Joker didn’t feature in the original version of the film that was reshot and rewritten by Joss Whedon. It is said that Leto has joined the production for significant reshoots on Snyder’s version of the film, the version that was originally intended to be released before tragic events forced the director to step away.
Leto’s only other time playing the role was back in 2016 and ‘Suicide Squad‘. Just like Snyder’s cut of ‘Justice League‘, the final version of the film saw many of Leto’s shot scenes as the crown prince of crime being left on the cutting room floor due to studio interference. The director of the film, David Ayer has claimed the version released was not the cut he wanted or delivered and after the fans succeeded in getting Snyder’s cut of JL back into production and completed, the outlook for Ayer and his desire to show the world his version of ‘Suicide Squad‘ and the reintegration of Leto’s deleted scenes has picked up pace as the fans have turned their attention to making sure they get to see the Ayer cut of the film.
With the news that Leto is back before the cameras and bringing back his version of The Joker, is it possible that we could also see a cameo appearance from Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn? Both she and Leto introduced their respective characters in ‘Suicide Squad‘ and Ms. Robbie has recently completed filming of the belated sequel ‘The Suicide Squad‘ which is due for release next summer and as such, could quite easily have filmed a few extra scenes for ‘Justice League‘ at the same time. Considering Snyder and his wife and partner, Deborah were executive producers on ‘Suicide Squad‘, it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that The Joker and Harley Quinn could make an explosive impact in JL and tie into the DC universe that Snyder always intended. However, it is just great to be able to say that Leto is back as the character and has just raised the interest and the expectation levels for Snyder’s film that much higher.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League will debut sometime in 2021.
