The Merc with a Mouth is back!
Ever since Disney took control of all their content, both past, present, and future when they bought 20th Century Fox, the future of the Ryan Reynolds led ‘Deadpool‘ franchise has been up for debate. The last two films have been rated R for strong language, some sexuality, and strong, gory violence, something that doesn’t fit the Disney mold in any shape or form. But with the creation of 20th Century Entertainment to deal with the harder-edged movie fare, that was no longer an issue. It is being reported that Reynolds is expected to return as the merc with a mouth once more in ‘Deadpool 3‘. And even better news, it is being rumored that the film will remain firmly in the R rated bracket and NOT be toned down to a more family-friendly PG-13 rating.

From what we have heard, writer meetings and pitches have been happening for a little over a month. Reynolds himself is said to have been front and center throughout this stage and has been heavily involved with the film and its development. It is being reported that Reynolds has chosen the Molyneaux Sisters, Wendy, and Lizzie to write the new film after being impressed with their pitch and script ideas. Although the project is in the embryonic stages at the moment, it is thought that the film will continue to be as outrageous and wall breaking as the previous two movies in the Marvel franchise.

There is no word as yet as to who will be on board to direct the film as ‘Deadpool 2‘ director David Leitch is not thought to be free to return once again due to a heavy slate for 2021. But no matter which way you slice it, a third ‘Deadpool‘ film is coming and will blast into theatres sometime soon.
