Feast your eyes on this first look at the ultimate clash of the titans!

I don’t know about you but I love a good old fashioned monster movie. And I’m always up for a good old fashioned monster movie smackdown! Take the rebooted ‘Godzilla‘ franchise for example. The first movie featured the king of the monsters (HA!) taking on a pair of MUTO for domination.  And it was a terrific and extremely enjoyable monster movie, especially as they held ‘Zilla back for forty-five minutes before unleashing him in a crowd-pleasing and seat thumping way, using the original, proper roar finally for him.

And when they allowed him to unleash his atomic breath, I was ecstatic. The follow-up, ‘Godzilla: King Of The Monsters” (Read our review) (Double Ha!) was enjoyable in its own right but felt sadly hollow and without heart, despite the appearances from Rodan and King Ghidorah. However, ‘Kong: Skull Island‘ gave us the REAL king of the monsters in full, all roaring, fighting, and taking no prisoners or s**t! The film was one of the most enjoyable monster movies that have been released.

Of course, it was revealed at the end of the film (right after the end credits) that Kong occupied the same world as Godzilla, leading to the upcoming battle for the ages.  The first look at the film’s logo appeared over the weekend. The film has been delayed so many times now, it seems like it would never come out. Ok, so this year’s pandemic has pushed it further back until next summer but the film SHOULD  have been released at least a year ago. But to make up for it, the first images from the new film have been revealed. And of course, they are of our two protagonists, all battle-ready and willing to tear chunks from each other in the mother of all battles. If, like me, this interests you, then hold onto your (atomic) breath and take a look at the king of the monsters! And Godzilla:

The film is directed by Adam Wingard based on the Godzilla Character created by Toho and the King Kong character created by Edgar Wallace and Merian C. Cooper. The cast includes returnees Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Zhang Ziyi alongside Alexander Skarsgard, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, and Eiza Gonzalez amongst others.

Godzilla Vs Kong is scheduled to hit theatres and HBO MAX in the United States on May 21st, 2021.
