Coming 2 America: The First Trailer Arrives

Eddie Murphy returns as King Akeem in the first trailer for Coming 2 America

The first trailer for the long-gestating Eddie Murphy sequel ‘Coming 2 America‘ has made its way online, giving the world its first look at what can be expected when the film hits Prime Video in March. Let’s take a look:

Ok, so it only shows a little of what the film entails but I have to admit, despite being slightly unimpressed with what the trailer shows, it is nice to see all the characters played by Murphy and co-star Arsenio Hall return once again. Hall, as Akeem’s friend Semmi, looks to be back to his usual wisecracking self. Both he and Murphy have brought back the Barbershop trio as well as Randy Watson aka ‘Sexual Chocolate’ and Reverend Brown.

James Earl Jones, John Amos, Louie Anderson, and Shari Headley all return for a second helping and are joined this time by Wesley Snipes and Leslie Jones. The film was due for release from Paramount Pictures before being sold to Amazon for release exclusively on their streaming service.

The film will debut on March 5th, 2021
