Filming on Mission Impossible 7 has been hit with impossible odds. And now, the Top Gun: Maverick has derailed Mission Impossible 8!
With all the behind-the-scenes drama on the set of ‘Mission: Impossible 7‘. And the various delays it has endured on its way to the big screen, the eighth film has suffered as well. The original plan was to film both films 7 and 8 back to back and release them a year apart. ‘Mission: Impossible 7‘ is nearing completion ahead of its proposed November 19th release.
But with the release of ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ coming up fast, Tom Cruise has had to delay the filming of the eighth movie to concentrate on his promotional duties for the long-gestating second helping of Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell and his need for speed. This means that the films will no longer be shot back to back.
Cruise’s promotional duties shouldn’t take up too long. And as soon as he has completed them, he will be back on the set to resume filming on ‘Mission: Impossible 8‘. But thanks to Covid’s impact on the release schedules, it is likely that the film may suffer another delay in reaching the screen. The film may still manage to make its November 2022 scheduled release. But we will need to keep an eye on any further developments. We will bring you any updates as soon as they happen or are announced.
