Get ready to be dragged down the Umbrella rabbit hole in a true adaptation of the Resident Evil property
The reboot of the ‘Resident Evil‘ franchise, aptly named ‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City‘ has kept its secrets. At least it was keeping them. It was playing its cards extremely close to his chest until now. We knew that the film would likely be set in the 1990s. And would be based on the first two games of the franchise. But finally, the official synopsis for the film has been revealed:
Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.
Sounds like a perfect adaptation of the source material. At the very least, it’s going to follow the plotline of the games more closely than the six previous films. Maybe this time, they’ll nail it instead of going off in a completely different direction.
‘Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City‘ hits theatres on November 24th.
