THE PLOT

While on a routine mission, the U.S.S. Enterprise discovers a bizarre rift in space, which reveals an unidentified vessel. Both ships are now on an alternate timeline where the Federation is in the midst of a bloody war with the Klingons. Picard and his crew identify the mysterious vessel as their ships’ immediate predecessor, the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-C. A vessel believed to have been destroyed in a battle over 20 years ago.

TREK OF THE WEEK

Certain that the ship is now existing in the wrong timeline, Picard makes plans to send the U.S.S. Enterprise-C back through the rift to change the course of events, which has resulted in the loss of 40 billion lives during the Klingon conflict. The episode boasts one of the most thrilling finales in Star Trek history.
