True horror returns! Grit your teeth and hold your nerve because the trailer for The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is here!
The eighth installment in ‘The Conjuring‘ universe franchise is due for release in June. Entitled ‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.’, the film was delayed like so many others thanks to COVID. But now the film, once again starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson is heading to theatres and HBO MAX. Based on the 1981 murder trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson in Connecticut, the film has been written by David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. McGoldrick also contributed to the story alongside James Wan, who returns to produce. Michael Chaves is on directorial duties this time, taking over from Wan who stepped aside due to scheduling conflicts.
The film has finally seen a trailer released alongside a poster featuring the two leads. Both are once again portraying real-life paranormal investigators and authors Ed and Lorraine Warren. Take a deep breath and prepare for the paranormal once again:
THE DEVIL MADE ME DO IT!
The ‘Devil made me do it’ case featuring Arne Cheyenne Johnson was a first in the United States. The defense attempted to prove Johnson’s innocence based on the claim of demonic possession by the defendant. Johnson was charged with the murder of his landlord, Alan Bono. Ed and Lorraine Warren worked on the case in an attempt to ‘cure’ 11-year-old David Glatzel. The child had allegedly played host to the demon that forced Johnson to kill his landlord. The demon allegedly fled the child and manifested itself inside of Johnson. This true story forms the basis for the new film.
‘The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It‘ hits theatres and HBO MAX from June 4th.
