Marvel Studios Shows Us The Future!

Marvel Studios has dropped a new teaser giving us a fresh look at Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, The Marvels, Guardians Vol.3, and Eternals

2020 saw Marvel Studios not having any movie content opening for the first time in twelve years. ‘Black Widow‘ was to lead the charge ahead of ‘Shang Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings‘, and ‘Eternals‘. But thanks to COVID, the movies were pushed back to this year instead. We relied on the spectacular ‘WandaVision‘ to get our fix of Marvel entertainment.

BLACK WIDOW

We are just over a month away from ‘Black Widow‘ finally making her debut. And with the others not too far behind, Marvel is back at the movies in a big way. But what about what comes after these three movies? Marvel has unleashed a preview of its future content. But has wisely decided to give the world its first look at ‘Eternals‘ which is due for release in November. The preview has been launched under the title of ‘Marvel Studios Celebrates The Movies’. And contains a few surprises. Sit back and see what the world can look forward to:

BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER

So, now we know the titles of two of the big movies that are due in theatres next year. We now have ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘ as the title of the second film in the series. And it is a fitting title, to be honest. In some ways, it feels as if the studio is moving forward with the story and character while also paying tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman. It remains to be seen how the filmmakers proceed without Boseman. But I confidently predict that there won’t be a dry eye in the house. They will pay tribute to him in some way before, during, and after proceedings. We will find out on July 8th, 2022.

THE MARVELS

So, it isn’t ‘Captain Marvel 2‘ then? Of course not, the second film featuring Brie Larson has been given the title of ‘The Marvels‘. While some comic book fans out there may be pleased and excited about the title, I’m not. To me, ‘The Marvels‘ sounds like the title of a sitcom, not a superhero movie. But it does throw up a few interesting theories regarding the plotline and events the film will bring to us. Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris take center stage alongside Iman Vellani who will appear as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel from the upcoming Disney+ show. While Zawe Ashton will star as the villain of the piece.  All will be revealed on November 11th, 2022.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

Of course, these will follow ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness‘, which opens on March 25, 2022. Benedict Cumberbatch once again portrays the sorcerer supreme while Elizabeth Olsen returns to play Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlet Witch. Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, and Chiwetel Ejiofor also return once again. The film follows the events after ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ and ‘WandaVision‘ as Strange continues his research on the time stone.

He is hindered by a friend-turned-enemy which causes Strange to accidentally unleash unspeakable evil. With Sam Raimi handling directorial duties this time, the film will have a terrific visual flair. But as for the friend turned enemy, who knows? It could be Ejiofor’s Karl Mordo (it probably is). But could it actually be Scarlett Witch who is the real villain of the piece?

THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER

Also due for release on May 6, 2022, is ‘Thor: Love And Thunder‘. The fourth film in the franchise once again stars Chris Hemsworth as the God of Thunder. Joining him for this adventure is the returning Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jaime Alexander as Lady Sif, and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster. Christian Bale will also appear as Gorr, The God Butcher. And making a special appearance ahead of their third movie will be the ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA

Looking forward to 2023, we find ‘Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania‘ is up first. The third film starring Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man alongside Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/ The Wasp debuts on February 17, 2023. Also returning for the threequel is Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Pym’s wife and Hope’s mother. Kathryn Newton will take over the role of Cassie Lang from Emma Fuhrmann who played her in ‘Avengers: Endgame‘. And Jonathan Majors has been cast as Kang The Conqueror. Director Peyton Reed also returns for a third go-around with the characters.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL.3

And no Marvel movie slate announcement would be complete without talking about those lovable ‘A-Holes’. Hitting screens on May 5th, 2023, ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3‘ will make its long-awaited debut. James Gunn is back in the writer/director’s hot seat once more along with Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper. And repaying the favor from his fourth movie, Chris Hemsworth will appear as Thor.

MOVIE MECCA

It is all going on at Marvel Studios! And with a roster like that, the next few years will guarantee us some top-quality comic book entertainment. And that is before we discuss ‘The New Avengers‘, ‘Blade‘, ‘Fantastic Four‘, and ‘X-Men‘ which will be coming by the end of 2025. The future looks very bright for Marvel Studios and audiences worldwide.
