Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water. The trailer for Great White has surfaced!
The trailer for Great White has surfaced. The true-life horror story featuring the ocean’s top predator.
No matter which way you look at it, there’s nothing better than a good old-fashioned creature feature. And inevitably, it usually has something to do with sharks. Ever since ‘Jaws‘ scared the pants off of audiences, filmmakers seem to enjoy making their own versions (Cough-Rip off-Cough) of the tale (tail?). We have been treated to other variations on the theme such as ‘Crawl‘, ‘Lake Placid‘, ‘Orca: Killer Whale‘ and of course, ‘Piranha‘.
SHARK FEST
Joe Dante ripped ‘Jaws‘ off in black comedy style with his movie regarding the killer fish. This led to an appalling sequel ‘Piranha II: Flying Fish‘ that had the honor of being directed by James Cameron. ‘Jaws‘ itself gave birth to three sequels, all of which were of middling quality. The original ‘Deep Blue Sea‘ was a B movie with a good cast and great production values. And it was fun. ‘Piranha‘ got the 3D remake treatment in some style before the inevitable sequel ‘Piranha 3DD‘ arrived in comic style. Katrina Bowman faced the murdering fish in the film. Now, she is back but this time, she faces the true daddy of them all. The Great White Shark.
RLJE Films and Shudder are behind the new horror film ‘Great White‘ which is scheduled for release in theatres and VOD on July 16th. In preparation for unleashing the terrors of the deep, a trailer for the film has been released. You’re going to need a bigger boat as we check out the trailer:
TRUE EVENTS
The film is inspired by true events and has been scripted by Michael Boughen. The film is an attempt to ‘Tap into our most primal fear of the deep, and deliver the stuff of nightmares in the form of the ocean’s most dangerous apex predator’.
SYNOPSIS “A blissful tourist trip turns into a nightmare when five seaplane passengers are stranded miles from shore. In a desperate bid for survival, the group tries to make it to land before they either run out of supplies or are taken by a menacing terror lurking just beneath the surface.”
We will see if the film can live up to its promise when it opens in July.
