‘The Suicide Squad’ gets its R rating In Style!

We all knew that the upcoming DC sequel ‘The Suicide Squad‘ was heading into R-rated territory. Now we have confirmation. But a surprise is in store. We could have guessed that the film would contain bucket loads of violence and gore. Everyone already knew that the film would contain strong language. And fans could even guess there would be some drug use and sexual references. But we didn’t guess at what else the rating would announce. For ‘The Suicide Squad‘ is rated R for:

“Strong violence and gore, language throughout, some sexual references, drug use, and brief graphic nudity.”

Huh? Graphic nudity? Where the hell did that come from? And who exactly is appearing in their birthday suit? To be honest, I think one of the prisoners incarcerated in Belle Reve prison, the setting for the action will be the one showing off their parts. But, of course, some fans on Twitter have speculated that the character of King Shark will be showing off his bits! Now, that WOULD be hilarious. A CGI animated shark/man going nude. It would surely go down in the annuls of movie history!

‘Jungle Cruise’ to receive a simultaneous release.

The Dwayne Johnson/ Emily Blunt film ‘Jungle Cruise‘, based on the ride at Disneyland is due to hit screens in July. The film has been delayed several times in the past before grabbing a July 30th release. But, just like ‘Black Widow‘, and ‘Cruella‘, the film will be released simultaneously in theatres and on Disney+ Premier Access.

Raya And The Last Dragon‘ was the last Disney film to take the route. Following somewhat in the steps of Warner Bros. who are releasing all their big content simultaneously this year, Disney seems to be taking a safe option with their movies. Although vaccines are now available, the studio seems to be taking things with a degree of caution in regards to their movie content.

Disney's Jungle Cruise - New Trailer

Jungle Cruise‘ has the following synopsis:

‘A riverboat captain named Frank (Johnson) takes a scientist (Blunt) and her brother (Jack Whitehall) on a mission into a jungle to find the Tree of Life which is believed to possess healing powers. All the while the trio must fight against dangerous wild animals and a competing German expedition’

‘Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard’ gets a new trailer and poster

Back in 2017, Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson hit it big with their comedy/ actioner ‘The Hitman’s Bodyguard‘. It was only a matter of time before a sequel came calling. It was due to open last year but ended up being bumped to June 16th, 2021. Now, with just over a month before it hits the screens, another trailer has hit the wires. And again, it brings the action along with the laughs we expect. Take a look at the new trailer for ‘Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard‘:

The film also has been given a brand new, all glossy poster featuring the cast:

As I loved the original film, I’m looking forward to seeing what they can come up with this time around. The surprise factor has gone from the sequel but with an expanded role for Selma Hayek and support from Antonio Banderas, and Morgan Freeman, the film could be another sleeper hit.  We will soon find out.

And that marks the end of this edition of the FOTF Movie News Buzz. Any further news or developments regarding these or any other stories, we will bring them to you right here at FOTF!
