It’s exactly one year and counting until the dinosaurs come roaring back again! The countdown to Jurassic World Dominion starts here…

After yesterday’s reveal that exclusive footage from the dinosaur sequel ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ will be playing in front of IMAX screenings of F9: The Fast Saga, today Universal has unveiled a new teaser poster for the 2022 film. It shows the traditional dinosaur logo, encased in amber with the date the new film will be released. And it is exactly one year and counting before humans and dinosaurs face off against each other one more time:

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Omar Sy, and BD Wong return. Also returning are Daniella Pineda as Zia Rodriguez. Justice Smith as Franklin Webb. Isabella Sermon as Maisie Lockwood, and Jake Johnson as Lowery Cruthers.

This time though, they will be joined by the cast of the original ‘Jurassic Park’ in the shape of Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, appearing together for the first time since 1993. Campbell Bell joins the cast, replacing Cameron Thor as Dr. Lewis Dodgson, another character from the first film. Also taking part are Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze. Dichen Lachman, DeWanda Wise, and Dimitri Thivaios.

The film was due for release on June 11th but thanks to the pandemic, filming was delayed and suffered a stop/start production. Universal made the wise decision to shift the film back until next year to protect what is sure to be a high-grossing blockbuster upon release.

As for the future, producer Frank Marshall has announced that the film WON’T be the final film in the franchise. He is quoted as saying the film would instead mark “The start of a new era”. One where humankind has to adjust and come to terms with dinosaurs being present on the mainland. It is though perhaps the final time for these sets of characters to appear in the franchise.

‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ opens June 10th, 2022.
