This week on The Official Film Chart, Godzilla VS Kong stumbles, Raya stands still and Indiana Jones returns but nothing can stop the Justice League from hitting the top again!
Welcome once again to The Official Film Chart.
LOKI SHINES ON DISNEY+!
Have you caught the outstanding ‘Loki‘ on Disney+ yet? If you haven’t, then you are missing out on a truly outstanding and enjoyable show. After last week’s debut episode, which dealt with the God Of Mischief’s fate following his abrupt departure in ‘Avengers: Endgame’, the show set the structure for what lies ahead for the remainder of the series. This week’s episode that has now debuted gets the ball rolling and leads the viewer further down the rabbit hole of the story. So, what are you waiting for? ‘Loki’ is available to watch exclusively on Disney+ right now!
FURTHER UNMISSABLE FILMS AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD AND KEEP!
Another week, another set of new films and TV shows have been added to the streaming services at a bargain price. There are still a lot of the older titles available but this week, I have found ‘The New Mutants’ for £4.99. Steven Seagal in his heyday in ‘Under Siege 1 & 2’ for £3.99 each. The king of the 1980s action movies, Sylvester Stallone gets in on the act this week as “Tango & Cash’ finally drops in price down to £3.99. Even Brendan Fraser’s ‘The Mummy’ finally hits £3.99. There are over fifteen hundred titles that you can choose from so grab them while they are cheap!
THE OFFICIAL FILM CHART!
As for what is hitting the heights this week, it’s a case of the same old, same old. Titles move up and down. Some arrive, some depart as normal. This week, we bid Adieu to ‘Peter Rabbit.’, ‘Total Recall’, and ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’. But what has grabbed the top spot? What is at the top of the mountain? What have you been buying? Dress yourself up for the hot weather and don’t forget your water bottle! It’s time to take a trip through the chart again!
THE LEAGUE HITS THE TOP…AGAIN!!
You just can’t keep them down, can you? After topping the charts on digital, falling to seventh. Hitting the top again, only to drop down last week, the League is back on top! Once again leading the way for the other contenders is ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League.’ Only a week after being dethroned, the best film of the year so far has bested the titans again. Only 550 sales were the difference between first and second places this week. The film now has its fifth non-consecutive week at the top of the charts. Snyder’s masterpiece of comic book movies continues its much-deserved success in the sales charts. Not bad for a film Warner Bros. didn’t want to bother completing or releasing!
GODZILLA VS KONG TAKES A HIT!
After taking the chart by storm last week, the titanic (sorry!) showdown between the ‘Monsterverse’s two biggest titans has taken a hit this week. Despite only losing by 550 sales, ‘Godzilla VS Kong‘ falls down a place to take the second position. However, the film hit the disc formats this past Monday and should, in theory, return to the top again next week. The film has taken the world by storm ever since it finally hit cinema screens across the world. With its outstanding PVOD performance adding to its good fortune, the film has been a roaring success. A sequel isn’t ruled out but next time, can we please not relegate Godzilla to what amounts to a glorified cameo again?
A QUIET PLACE STILL SHOUTING
Thanks to the arrival, better late than never, of its sequel. ‘A Quiet Place’ moves up a place this week to cement itself into a third-place finish. The horror film, starring Emily Blunt, continues to sell extremely well thanks to a digital price cut. And for people who wish to catch up on the story before venturing out to see ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ at the local multiplex. The film is a unique and winning original idea which pays off in spades. I hear the sequel is just as good, if not better than this original film.
TOM AND JERRY GET SLAPPED DOWN!
Those classic cartoon characters fall yet another place this week as ‘Tom & Jerry: The Movie‘ drops down to end the week in the fourth position. Over seventy years of mayhem has contributed to the fun and frolics of the two adversaries. The film is perfect for families to sit down together and enjoy. Despite it being a vehicle for Chloe Grace Moretz instead of a proper film for our favorite cat and mouse duo. But there is still a lot of fun to be had with the antics of the animated characters.

RAYA IS A STAY-A!
Deciding to stay put for this week is the Disney animated film ‘Raya And The Last Dragon.’ The film, starring the vocal talents of Kelly Marie Tran and Awkwafina has recently debuted on Disney+ for all subscribers. That’s after spending a month on Disney+ Premier Access for £19.99. The film is an enchanting tale that will appeal to the younger viewers out there alongside adult fans of Disney animation. Yet another family film that everyone can sit down together and enjoy.
COMING SOON!
Hitting download and keep from Monday, June 21st is the adventure drama ‘Edge Of The World.’ Starring Jonathan Rhys-Meyers as the British soldier and adventurer James Brooke, the film is directed by Michael Haussman. It tells the story of Brooke, who sails to Borneo which at the time was still under the governance of the Bruneian Sultanate. Brooke helped the Sultan Of Brunei’s governor stop a rebellion that was happening locally. Brooke took over as governor of what eventually became the Raja Of Sarawak, becoming his private kingdom.
This led to him obtaining a knighthood from Queen Victoria before being appointed as the governor of the Crown Colony of Labuan. His dynasty lasted over three generations and spanned a century. Brooke was also the inspiration behind classic novels such as ‘The Man Who Would Be King’ by Rudyard Kipling and ‘Lord Jim’ by Joseph Conrad. If this sounds like your cup of tea, why not grab it from Monday?
WONDER WOMAN RISES ONCE MORE!
We return to the chart rundown now by discovering the DC sequel ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ has used its superpowers and risen a place this week to land itself in the sixth position. The Gal Gadot sequel is a former number one and has seen great success on home entertainment.

THE HERO IS BACK…AGAIN!
Cue the music! The classic theme tune is playing again! Grab your hat and your whip! Indiana Jones is back! By now, many of you will have seen the images that have hit social media sites. They show Harrison Ford on the set of ‘Indiana Jones 5.’ It’s been forty years since the intrepid hero first hit our screens in the classic ‘Raiders Of The Lost Ark.’ In celebration of this, a new 4K boxset containing the first four films alongside special features has been released. And it hits this week’s chart in the seventh position. ‘Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures’ is something that every film fan and collector must own. The films have never looked or sounded better and the boxset is a worthy purchase. You don’t need me to tell you about the quality of the films or tell you about them. Just fire up the TV, get the surround speakers going and settle back with the classic adventures directed by Steven Spielberg!
CHAOS WALKS TOWARDS THE EXIT DOOR!
Dropping two places this week, the Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley science-fiction drama ‘Chaos Walking’ finds itself marching rather quickly towards the chart exit door as it now resides in eighth place.
2 HEARTS BEAT AS ONE?
Hitting the chart this week as a new entry in ninth place, based on digital downloads alone is ‘2 Hearts.’ This film is a romantic drama starring Jacob Elordi, Tiera Skovbye, Adan Canto, and Radha Mitchell. It tells the tale of two couples, very different from each other in different decades and places. They share a hidden connection that brings them all together. They are brought together in unimaginable ways which challenge the viewer to believe in fate and that anything is possible. It didn’t receive great critical reviews but it could be a film that couples can sit down together with and enjoy.
TENET IS STILL THE WORD!
And finally, bringing up the rear but climbing six places to return once more is Christopher Nolan’s time-bending thriller ‘Tenet.’ The film is a former number one and keeps making an appearance inside the top ten. What could be Nolan’s masterpiece ends this week in the tenth and final position.
