Could this be the start of the film being pushed back again worldwide?
Disturbing news is starting to break. A few weeks back, the latest trailer for ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ was released. However, I commented then about the lack of a date of release listed on the trailer. I speculated that the film MAY be on course to be delayed again. Sadly, it looks like it might just be the case. The film, once again starring Tom Hardy has seen its release date in New Zealand pushed back. Although it isn’t too serious, the film has been delayed over there by a further three weeks.
The film was slated to open in New Zealand on September 23rd. Now though, the film has been pushed back to open on October 14th. It isn’t a big delay but enough to start us to raise suspicion that the film could become yet another casualty of the international release date merry-go-round. New Zealand reported 12 new cases on August 9th and the Coronavirus is almost gone from the country. Compared to other countries in the world and that doesn’t inspire confidence. If New Zealand has to delay the film with a low infection level, what will happen to the film in the United States? Or the United Kingdom? Or other countries with a much higher infection rate.
WATCH THIS SPACE-TIME AGAIN!
This news has only just broken and as such, we don’t know whether the rest of the world will be affected. It was spotted that the latest trailer didn’t include a specific date at the climax for its release. Was Sony already gearing up for another delay? We must wait and see what happens with the film now. But at the moment, it isn’t looking too good. Look at the new James Bond film ‘No Time To Die.’ It is being reported that the film needs to make $900million just to break even after all the delays. Sony can’t afford to have the ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’ sitting on the shelf. It is costing them too much money with the delays. And a streaming release is completely out of the question. But maybe their hands are tied at this moment in time.
We will bring you any further updates as soon as we get them.
Are you looking forward to ‘Venom: Let There Be Carnage’? Would you support a slight delay in the film’s release? Or do you think Sony should bite the bullet and release it as planned? Let us know how you feel!
