Ghostface returns to make us scream again from January 14th, 2022.
Twenty-Five years ago, the original ‘Scream’ movie redefined the horror genre. Directed by the late Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, the film was a sensation. Three sequels followed it, the second being the best while the third was supposedly the franchise closer and was the weakest of the trilogy. ‘Scream 4’ was an unmitigated disaster both critically and commercially. Next year though sees the release of a fifth film. Curiously also titled ‘Scream’, the film not only relaunches the series but serves as another sequel in the franchise. Today has seen the release of the first poster for the upcoming film:
Returning once more are Neve Cambell as the protagonist, Sidney Prescott, Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers. David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks. Of course, the film wouldn’t be the same without the vocal talents of Roger L. Jackson as the voice of Ghostface, and he too returns. Newcomers to the franchise are Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega. Jack Quaid, Dylan Minnette. Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sonia Ben Ammar. Mikey Madison, Mason Gooding, and Kyle Gallner. The film is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, taking over from the departed Craven while Brian Tyler takes over scoring duties from Marco Beltrami.
‘Scream’ asks us if we like scary movies once again from January 14th, 2022.
