Deadline reports there will be no beaming us up or transforming until 2023.

It looks like we are in for a bit of a wait for the latest movies in the ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Transformers’ franchises. Paramount Pictures, the guardians of both franchises has announced that the scheduled newest chapters in the long-running movies have been delayed. For one, it’s an almost twelve-month delay. For the other…well, we’ll come to that one shortly. But first, let us focus on the film that has recently been completed filming.

Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts

The next installment in the ‘Transformers’ franchise, ‘Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts’ has recently completed production. Originally, it was scheduled for release on June 24th, 2022. Now though, the film won’t transform into theatres until June 9th, 2023. That is almost a year’s extra wait for the film to hit screens. But the delay will give the film time for its post-production, its music, and of course, those all-important special effects to be completed. The delay takes the pressure off so the filmmakers can make sure the film is the best it can be.

Transformers - 001

‘Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts’ is directed by Steven Caple Jr. The cast includes Anthony Ramos, Dominique Fishback. Tobe Nwigwe, and Luna Lauren Velez. The great Ron Perlman is aboard the project as the voice of Optimus Primal. And, of course, the legendary Peter Cullen returns once more as the voice of Optimus Prime. That alone has got me buying my ticket to the film. And with Perlman adding his tones to proceedings, the film could be a complete winner. The film takes place in 1994. A pair of archaeologists find themselves involved with an ancient conflict. The adventure will bring to the screen The Maximals, The Predacons, and The Terrorcons.

Can Bumblebee Revitalize the Transformers Franchise?

The other film is the new ‘Star Trek’ movie. Now, the film has been struggling to get off the ground for many years. Directors and writers have come and gone. Announced films have been canceled. And there is general bewilderment about what exactly is going on with the ‘Star Trek’ film franchise. However, a new film, to be directed by ‘WandaVision’s Matt Shakman had previously been announced. Scripted by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, the film was due to hit screens on June 9th, 2023 but will now hit theatres on December 22nd, 2023 instead.

The thing is, we don’t know if the crew of the Kelvin universe is involved. If it is another reboot of the franchise. Or if the film is going in a totally new direction and won’t feature any link to James T. Kirk and company and crew of the U.S.S Enterprise. We shall have to wait and see I guess.

Star Trek Beyond 002

‘Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts’ will transform in theatres on June 9th, 2023. The next ‘Star Trek’ film will (hopefully) beam into screens on December 22nd, 2023.

Does either of these films excite you? Are you a fan of either franchise? Or do you think both franchises are played out? Why transform your thoughts and beam down to the comments section below!
