The Spider-Sense is tingling as Sony and Marvel unveil the brand new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home.
WOW! Just…WOW!! The new trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home has finally arrived.
After waiting for what seems like forever, the new trailer for ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ has finally dropped onto the world. And to say it is breathtaking is an understatement. Was it worth the wait? Debatable. Some people out there may complain about what it DOESN’T show. But you have to allow the makers to keep some secrets, even if they’ve been heavily rumored for the past few years. But don’t take my word for it. See for yourself:
The film looks to be amazing. It looks like it could possibly be the ‘Spider-Man’ film to end them all. But it does throw up more interesting questions. For starters, Doc Ock. His line that ‘You’re not Peter Parker’. Yes, it ties into the Sam Raimi version of the character. But could that mean that Tobey Maguire’s version WILL be making an appearance? Later on in the trailer, Doctor Strange tells Peter that all the villains in the film are destined to die after fighting Spider-Man. Peter looks crestfallen. Could this mean that Doc Ock will start out as a villain, only to become a hero later on? And I don’t remember Sandman or The Lizard dying in their respective appearances. But Otto Octavius has managed to get himself a snazzy new upgrade.
We already knew that Electro would be making his reappearance in the film. But at last, we have our first real look at Jamie Foxx as the villain. And he has been given an upgraded look for his return.
The already-mentioned Sandman and The Lizard also return in the film. Their looks though don’t appear to have changed much since the last time we saw them.
And, despite all his denials, Willem Dafoe IS indeed back as the Green Goblin (or at least his voice is). And again, it looks like he has received a significant upgrade.
Of course, many people will pick up on the final shot of the trailer. We have been here before. In ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’ to be exact. But I strongly believe that this time, the end result will be different. Now, I don’t want to add to those never-ending rumors. But I can’t shake the feeling that Andrew Garfield’s version of ‘Spidey’ will be on hand to save the day. To accomplish what he failed to do with Gwen Stacy in his own universe.
But the biggest thing about the trailer is what it DOESN’T include. No sign of Tom Hardy as Venom. No brief shot of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdoch/ Daredevil. No brief glimpse of Emma Stone or Kirsten Dunst as Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson respectively. And certainly no sign of Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield as their versions of Peter Parker/ Spider-Man. If they are to appear in the film, then quite rightly, their appearances are being kept firmly under wraps. And that’s the way it should be. People will be queuing around the block to see the film anyway. Spoiling the surprises won’t make more people go and see the film. The audience is already locked in. And I, for one, want to be surprised when I sit in the theatre to watch the movie.
‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ spins its web in theatres on December 15th in the UK and December 17th in the USA.
What did you make of the trailer? Is it everything you wanted it to be? Did you expect more? Or are you nonchalant about the film in general? Why not swing from a thread and give us your thoughts below!
