Eighteen years after the trilogy closing ‘The Matrix Revolutions’, we are a mere sixteen days from ‘The Matrix Resurrections’. What we once believed wouldn’t happen, the film is due to download itself into theatres on December 22nd. Once again, Keanu Reeves stars as Thomas Anderson/ Neo with Carrie-Anne Moss reprising her role as Trinity. The plot for the new film is shrouded in secrecy. But thanks to the final trailer for the film, we can continue with our guesses and theories. The final trailer has been released online and poses even more questions than before. Take the blue pill as we go down the rabbit hole one more time:
THOUGHTS
Ok, so if that isn’t confusing as always! But that is how it should be. From what we see here, the film’s title seems quite apt. It certainly looks as it is a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same. It appears that the film has rebooted the entire franchise in more ways than one. Could The Matrix have been rebooted somehow? Is that how Neo and Trinity have returned from the dead? Or are they simply ghosts left in the previous version that still haunts the system? Could some of the new characters be rebooted or upgraded versions of characters from the previous trilogy? These are things we must consider before we discover the truth.
‘The Matrix Resurrections’ will once again tell us that no one can be told what The Matrix is, we have to see it for ourselves on December 22nd. The film will open theatrically and on HBO MAX simultaneously.
