The Batman

Has a new Japanese trailer given the game away?

Next March sees the release of the long-awaited ‘The Batman.’ The film has suffered a number of setbacks on its way to the screen. Covid has affected the film at almost every turn, from production shutdowns in the U.K to crew members becoming infected. Even star Robert Pattinson wasn’t immune to the virus. But now, the film is firmly on its way to theatres. We have seen two incredible trailers for the film so far. But has a new Japanese trailer given the game away with regards to a familiar villain making an appearance? We already have three villains in the form of Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman. Paul Dano as The Riddler. And Colin Farrell as The Penguin. But are we also going to see the Crown Prince Of Crime himself too? Take a look at the trailer and see what you think:

COULD IT BE?

Twelve seconds into the trailer, you can see a familiar grinning face on Bruce Wayne’s board. Yes, it is very similar, if not exactly like The Joker’s grinning emblem. Who is that sitting behind a dark screen at the end of the trailer? It could be a feint. But it is distinctly very much like The Joker. Of course, the trailer doesn’t reveal the person’s face but it can be assumed that it is indeed the Clown Prince Of Crime. The familiar chuckle can also be heard after the character speaks the line: “I’ve been trying to reach you…Bruce Wayne.”

It has been rumored for ages that actor Barry Keoghan, already part of the cast, would turn out to be The Joker. Could the rumors turn out to be true? It would make sense to at least lay the foundations for the character to appear in a probable sequel somewhere down the line. But we can only speculate until the film is released in March of 2022.
