Get ready to lock and load with the Master Chief on March 24th!

Shh! Whisper it quietly. I’ve never been a fan of the ‘Halo’ series of games. For some reason, I could never get into them. I tried several times but to no avail. There was just something about them that drove me mad. But millions of people around the world love the games. And rightfully so. They sit down and play them for hours. There have been several attempts over the years to adapt the games for a big-screen movie. But until now, the plans have never panned out. That is all about to change. Debuting on March 24th, Paramount Plus is bringing the world a TV series based on the franchise. And they have unveiled an official trailer for the upcoming show. Let’s lock and load and jump into action with the Master Chief:

THE CAST

Pablo Schreiber takes the lead role as Master Chief in the series. Natasha McElhone portrays Dr. Halsey, said to be “The brilliant, conflicted and inscrutable creator of the Spartan Super-Soldiers.” Jen Taylor appears as Cortana, “The most advanced AI in human history, and potentially the key to the survival of the human race.” Bokeem Woodbine, Danny Sapani, Shabana Azmi. Kate Kennedy, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray. Yerin Ha and Bentley Kalu also appear in the show.

THE PREMISE

David Nevins, chief creative officer, CBS & Chairman, and CEO, Showtime Networks  said that the series will:

“Weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future. It centers on a conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. It delivers the visceral excitement of playing the game, along with a much deeper emotional experience around the Spartans. Human Beings who got their humanity chemically and genetically altered. The story is about reclaiming what makes them human, and therefore it’s a very powerful story.”

THOUGHTS

The trailer looks amazing to be completely honest. It appears to be a kick-ass TV series and one that I can get behind. The action looks intense, the effects look amazing. And the story sounds intriguing. Of course, it is the fans of the game who will get the biggest say on whether the show is what they have been hoping for. But from a novice point of view, the show appears to be something that will blow everyone away.

‘Halo’ streams exclusively on Paramount Plus from March 24th.
