Star Trek Strange New Worlds Dr M'Benga

Dr. M’Benga begins his first tour aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise in the newest promo for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is warping towards its release on Paramount Plus. The series, which follows the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike launches on the platform on May 5. And eager to ensure we are suitably excited, the streamer has given the order to launch the promo campaign with an injection of impulse power. What started as a juicy sneak preview has grown into a fully-fledged promotional campaign with almost EVERY character being featured.

And today, the streamer has debuted a fifth new character expose. Just hours after we were introduced to Cadet Nyota Uhura and Lieutenant La’An; Lieutenant Ortegas, and Hemmer, it’s time to welcome back an old friend. Dr. M’Benga is making a welcome return to the franchise and beginning his first tour of duty aboard the starship Enterprise. Check out the promo below.

THE DOCTOR WILL SEE YOU NOW

It’s always a pleasure to see characters from The Original Series make a welcome return. And Dr. M’Benga can count himself among them. It’s been a long time since we saw him in “A Private Little War” and the idea of seeing him back in sickbay is an exciting one. And Babs Olusanmokun looks more than up to the challenge of filling Booker Bradshaw’s shoes. And with the series looking this good Strange New Worlds has already cemented itself as the must-see TV event of the year.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds stars Anson Mount as Captain Pike, Rebecca Romjin as Number One, and Ethan Peck as Spock. Joining them are Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel, Christina Chong as La’an Noonien-Singh, Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura, Melissa Navia as Lt. Erica Ortegas, Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga and Bruce Horak as Hemmer.

The series premieres on Paramount+ in the US on May 5, 2022.
