
Get ready to discover the backstory of the beloved character this summer in Disney/Pixar’s Lightyear!
The character of Buzz Lightyear has become a fan favorite ever since he first appeared in the original ‘Toy Story.’ The toy, who thought he was real, became a staple throughout the franchise. But who was he based on? What was the real backstory behind the toy? We will find out this June when Disney/ Pixar brings us ‘Lightyear.’ While Tim Allen voiced Buzz in the ‘Toy Story.’ movies, this time Chris Evans lends his vocal tones to the character. The film serves as an origin story for the human who inspired the Space Ranger toy line. A brand new trailer and poster for the film have today arrived from the cosmos. “Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he’s marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he’s joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.”

THE CAST
Joining Chris Evans on vocal duties is Keke Palmer. Dale Soules, Taika Waititi, Peter Sohn. Uzo Aduba, Mary McDonald-Lewis. Efren Ramirez, Isiah Whitlock Jr, And the legendary James Brolin. Michael Giacchino, a long-time composer for Pixar movies will be providing the score for the film. Chris Evans spoke about voicing the character of Buzz Lightyear, saying;
“The phrase ‘a dream come true’ gets thrown around a lot, but I’ve never meant it more in my life. Anyone who knows me knows that my love for animated films runs deep. I can’t believe that I get to be a part of the Pixar family and work with these truly brilliant artists who tell stories unlike anyone else. Watching them work is nothing short of magic. I pinch myself every day.”
