Those lovable little yellow creatures remind us that cinema is the place to see moments worth paying for as Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment bring us Minions: The Rise Of Gru!
We have been waiting for the Minions to return in their solo sequel for two years now. Thanks to COVID, they have been delayed in joining us. But that is about to change. Just in time for summer, ‘Minions: The Rise Of Gru’ will be hitting screens around the world. Steve Carell is back as the voice of the character once more, this time playing a twelve-year-old Gru, who plans to take over the world from the comfort of his basement. Pierre Coffin once again returns to voice the Minions themselves, as only he can. To promote the Industry Trust ‘Moments Worth Paying For’ campaign, a new sneak peek of the film has been released.
Watch the Minions misbehave as only they can, from Kevin hanging on to a tram for dear life and new character Otto pedaling an out-of-control bike through a lake – Minions: The Rise of Gru is another perfectly despicable adventure for all ages to enjoy on the big screen. Let’s check-in and see what our little yellow friends have been up to:
Long before he becomes the master of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy in 1970s suburbia, plotting to take over the world from his basement. When the infamous supervillain supergroup, the Vicious 6, ousts their leader, Gru interviews to become their newest member. But instead finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. With Gru on the run, the Minions attempt to master the art of kung fu to save him. And Gru discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends.
Featuring more spectacular action than any film in Illumination’s history and packed with the franchise’s signature subversive humor, Minions: The Rise of Gru stars a thrilling new cast. Including as the Vicious 6, Taraji P. Henson, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Lucy Lawless, Dolph Lundgren, Danny Trejo, Michelle Yeoh, and Oscar winner Julie Andrews.
The film is produced by Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy, and Chris Renaud. And is directed by returning franchise filmmaker Kyle Balda. Minions: The Rise of Gru features the iconic voice of Pierre Coffin as the Minions. And a killer ’70s soundtrack courtesy of legendary Grammy-winning music producer Jack Antonoff.
‘Minions: The Rise Of Gru’ will bring all sorts of comic mayhem when it opens in theaters on July 1st. Book your tickets NOW!
