Ahead of its June 22nd launch, Paramount+ reveals the key titles that will be available to stream for all subscribers!
The day is almost upon us. Paramount+ is due to be launched here in the UK on June 22nd. While we have been waiting to catch up with our American cousins, from tomorrow, we will get to see all which they have been enjoying over the big pond. And believe me, we are in for a treat! From epic science fiction shows such as ‘Halo’ and ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.‘ Drama such as ‘The First Lady’ and ‘The Offer.’ With classic shows such as ‘Yellowstone’ and its prequel spin-off ‘1883.’ And some classic movies such as ‘Grease’, ‘Pulp Fiction.’, ‘Flashdance’, and ‘Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan.’, we are in for a treat. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights in store for us:
Episodes 1-3 will be available at launch with new episodes dropping every Wednesday. In its adaptation for Paramount+, ‘Halo’ will take place in the universe that first came to be in 2001. It dramatizes an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant. ‘Halo’ will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure, and a richly imagined vision of the future. It stars Pablo Schreiber as the Master Chief, Spartan-117. Natasha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, the brilliant, conflicted, and inscrutable creator of the Spartan super soldiers. And Jen Taylor as Cortana, the most advanced AI in human history. And potentially the key to the survival of the entire human race.
STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS
Episodes 1-3 will drop at launch with new episodes dropping every Wednesday. Based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S Enterprise, ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’ will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock, and Number One in the decade before Captain Kirk boarded the Enterprise. Together, they will explore new worlds around the galaxy. The series will feature fan favorites from season two of ‘Star Trek: Discovery.’ Anson Mount appears as Captain Christopher Pike. Rebecca Romijn as Number One. And Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock.

THE FIRST LADY
The entire season will drop at launch. In the East Wing of The White House, many of history’s most impactful, and world-changing decisions have been hidden from view. Made by America’s charismatic, complex, and dynamic First Ladies. This series will peel back the curtain on the personal and political lives of three unique, enigmatic women. It traces their journeys to Washington through interweaving storylines, with an enlightening intimacy. Season one focuses on Michelle Obama (Viola Davis), and Betty Ford (Michelle Pfeiffer). And Eleanor Roosevelt (Gillian Anderson). Additional cast includes Kiefer Sutherland as President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Aaron Eckhart as President Gerald Ford, and O-T Fagbenie as President Barack Obama.
The full season will drop on launch day and consists of ten episodes. ‘The Offer’ is based on Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy’s extraordinary, never-before-seen experience of making ‘The Godfather.’ After ditching his job at The Rand Corporation for a shot at Hollywood, Al Ruddy wins the job to produce Mario Puzo’s best-selling novel ‘The Godfather’ for Paramount Pictures. The series stars Miles Teller as Albert S.Ruddy and Matthew Goode as Robert Evans. Juno Temple as Bettye McCartt, Giovani Ribisi as Joe Columbo. Dan Fogler as Francis Ford Coppola, Burn Gorman as Charles Bluhdorn. Colin Hanks as Barry Lapidus, and Patrick Gallo as Mario Puzo.
Seasons 1-3 will be available at launch, giving the viewer 29 episodes at their fingertips. The series follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the country. It is constantly under attack by All those it borders. Land developers, the Broken Rock Indian Reservation, and the country’s first National Park. It’s a generational family saga, set against the backdrop of the great frontier. It is where land grabs make developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s largest oil and lumber corporations.
It is a place where drinking water poisoned by fracking wells and unsolved murders is not news. It is a consequence of living in the new frontier. The series depicts the best and worst of mankind seen through the eyes of a pioneering family. Kelly Reilly and Luke Grimes also star as the children of John Dutton, Beth, and Kayce Dutton respectively.
The whole season drops on launch day, giving the viewer 11 episodes. The ‘Yellowstone’ origin story, ‘1883’ follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the great plains. They are headed for the last bastion of untamed America. In a stark retelling of Western expansion. And an intense study of one family fleeing poverty, ‘1883’ sees the family seek a better future in America’s promised land: Montana. Sam Elliot is Shea Brennan, a tough-as-nails, handsome cowboy with immense sadness in his past. He has the herculean task of guiding a group from Texas to Montana. And he does not suffer fools. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill portray James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family respectfully.
SOUTH PARK THE STREAMING WARS
Fans of the legendary show ‘South Park’ need not fret. Available a launch will be ‘South Park: The Streaming Wars.’ In the show, Cartman locks horns with his mom in a battle of wills, while an epic conflict unfolds and threatens South Park’s very existence.
GREASE IS STILL THE WORD.
STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN
This is just the tip of a very large iceberg. With the content that will be available from the minute the service launches, there is something for everyone.
