The day has finally arrived. The United Kingdom and Ireland have finally gained access to Paramount Plus. And boy, are we in for a treat! With terrific shows such as ‘Star Trek: Strange New Worlds’, ‘Halo’, ‘The First Lady’, ‘The Offer’, and many others, we are now spoilt for top-quality entertainment. And that is before we even think about the movies that we can now stream on-demand from the Paramount vaults. There literally is something for everyone. And it has arrived at the right time too. If you are a Sky Movies subscriber, the service is available at no extra cost. For those who don’t subscribe, the service costs £6.99 a month or £69.90 annually.
Paramount+, the global streaming service from Paramount (NASDAQ: PARA, PARAA), is now available to audiences in the UK and Ireland with more than 8000 hours of entertainment for the whole family. The streaming service brings together exclusive originals, blockbuster films, and iconic series across every genre from Paramount’s world-renowned brands and production studios, including SHOWTIME®, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Pictures.
A MOUNTAIN OF ENTERTAINMENT
As part of its ‘Mountain of Entertainment’, Paramount+ will premiere some of the year’s most highly anticipated titles to viewers in the UK and Ireland, including the sci-fi hit HALO, The First Lady, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, and iCarly. The streaming service will also be the home of a selection of new blockbuster films after their theatrical and home entertainment release, including Top Gun: Maverick.
The UK and Ireland are the latest markets to go live as part of the global rollout of Paramount+. The service launched in South Korea on 16 June, with the leading Korean content platform, TVING. Paramount+ has launched in the UK & Ireland through a major partnership with Sky and will also launch on Sky platforms in Italy, Germany, and Austria in 2022 as part of a new multi-year distribution agreement. Elsewhere, Paramount+ will also debut in Switzerland this year and India in 2023.

The service will be available at no extra cost to Sky Cinema subscribers in the UK and Ireland through a standalone app on Sky Glass and Sky Q. Others can also access Paramount+ for £6.99 per month or £69.90 per year in the UK and €7.99 per month or €79.90 per month in Ireland, after a free seven-day trial.
A ROBUST CONTENT SLATE-PARAMOUNT+ ORIGINALS AND EXCLUSIVES
Some of the most anticipated Paramount+ originals from the US, UK, and other international markets are now available in the UK and Ireland, including HALO, 1883, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Offer, Mayor of Kingstown, Queen of the Universe and Jerry & Marge Go Large. Exclusive programme highlights include Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, The First Lady, The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Thing About Pam, Victoria’s Secret: Angels and Demons, South Park: Post Covid, and South Park: Post Covid: The Return to Covid.
These will join premium international scripted Paramount+ originals produced by VIS – the international studio division of Paramount Global – in association with independent production companies in the UK and around the world. Previously announced original UK dramas heading to Paramount+ include Sexy Beast, A Gentleman in Moscow, Flatshare, The Burning Girls, The Ex-Wife, and The Blue.

Thousands of hours of Kids and Family content on the service will include Paramount+ Original series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years, Fairly Odd Parents: Fairly Odder, iCarly S1 & S2, the reimagined Rumble, and Big Nate. They will join original TV movies, including Honour Society, Promposal, Little Wing, Snow Day, Nicole From Last Night, and Blue’s Big City Adventure.
Paramount+ will offer unlimited access to blockbuster movies with new releases like Scream 5, time-proven classics such as Grease and Star Trek, and family-friendly selections like PAW Patrol: The Movie, Clifford The Big Red Dog, and more.
