FindAnyFilm announces what will be coming to buy and keep between now and September. And we are all in for some treats! The Biggest Blockbusters & Shows From The Big Screen To Yours!
Thanks to some big box office hitters becoming available on all the formats, the home entertainment market is looking incredibly healthy. And that is all set to continue between now and September. There are some huge titles on their way to the home entertainment market. And the choice is incredible whether you’re in the mood for a TV drama. Or a period drama sequel. A comedy, a family film or want to take to the skies in a fighter jet, there’s something for you in the coming months. Some titles are still awaiting official confirmation of their release dates. But we can be assured that the choices won’t be found lacking. FindAnyFilm.Com has launched a trailer for what we can expect over the coming months. Let’s all take a look at what’s on offer:
WHAT IS INCOMING.
We start with what is currently available. The Amazon Prime musical version of ‘Cinderella’ is available now. It stars singer Camila Cabello as the title character in her acting debut, alongside Idina Menzel, Minnie Driver, Nicholas Galitzine, Billy Porter, and Pierce Brosnan. It is a jukebox musical, featuring pop and rock hits and several original songs. It received mixed reviews from critics but is guaranteed to be fun for the whole family.

DI RAY
‘DI Ray’ is a British police procedural television series created and written by Maya Sondhi and produced by Jed Mercurio. It stars Parminder Nagra in the title role as a Detective Inspector in a fictitious Birmingham-based police force. The cast also includes Gemma Whelan and Jamie Bamber. Although it is unclear if the show will return for a second series, hopes remain high.

SHERWOOD
‘Sherwood’ is a British television crime drama series, created and written by James Graham. It is inspired by real-life murders in Nottinghamshire, England in 2004. Set in a Nottinghamshire mining village, two shocking killings shatter an already fractured community with a dark past. Divisions from the miners’ strike (1984–85) have persisted. The story is loosely based on the murder of trade unionist Keith Frogson in 2004 and begins with the murder of a former union activist, Gary Jackson. Jackson’s interest in former police covert activities within the community leads the police to suspect a connection with the miners’ strike. A second series has already been confirmed.

THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT
‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent’ is a 2022 American action comedy film directed by Tom Gormican, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kevin Etten. It stars Nicolas Cage as a fictionalized version of himself, along with a supporting cast including Pedro Pascal, Sharon Horgan, Ike Barinholtz, Alessandra Mastronardi, Jacob Scipio, Neil Patrick Harris, and Tiffany Haddish.

BETWEEN NOW AND THE END OF JULY
Four titles are confirmed as becoming available before this month is over. We start with Marvel Studios ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.’ The film stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Steven Strange, Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlett Witch, Benedict Wong as Wong, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez. In the film, Strange protects America Chavez, a teenager capable of traveling the multiverse, from Wanda Maximoff. The film is highly enjoyable without quite hitting the heights it aspires to. It is currently available to watch for all Disney+ subscribers. But for completionists (like myself), the film is available to buy on download and keep now and on the disc formats from Monday, July 18th.

FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE
The third film in the ‘Wizarding Worlds’ franchise, a spin-off from the ‘Harry Potter’ universe hits the disc formats on July 25th. ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets Of Dumbledore’ stars Eddie Redmayne, Jude Law, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, Katherine Waterston, and Mads Mikkelsen. Set several years after the events of its predecessor, the film sees Albus Dumbledore tasking Newt Scamander and his allies with a mission that takes them into the heart of dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald’s army.

HAPPENING
‘Happening’ (L’événement) is a French drama thriller. It is based on the novel of the same name from 2000. The plot of the film follows Anne, a young and talented student in 1963 France, who gets pregnant, seeing her opportunities to finish her studies and excel slipping away from her. As her final exams approach and her social life begins to fade, Anne’s pregnancy progresses, forcing her to confront the shame and pain of an abortion, even if she must risk prison to do so. It is available on July 18th.

PHANTOM OF THE OPEN
‘The Phantom of the Open’ is a 2021 British biographical comedy-drama film directed by Craig Roberts, about the exploits of Maurice Flitcroft. The screenplay by Simon Farnaby was based upon the biography The Phantom of the Open: Maurice Flitcroft, The World’s Worst Golfer by Farnaby and Scott Murray. The film stars Mark Rylance, Sally Hawkins, Rhys Ifans, Jake Davies, Christian and Jonah Lees, Mark Lewis Jones, and Johann Myers. The film is available on July 25th.

THE OUTLAWS: SEASON 2
‘The Outlaws’ is a BBC crime thriller comedy television series created by Elgin James and Stephen Merchant. The story follows seven strangers from different walks of life who are forced together to complete a Community Payback sentence, set in Bristol. However, their luck changes – and not necessarily for the better – when they discover a bag full of money, unaware that its true owners are very dangerous. Featuring Stephen Merchant and the legendary Christopher Walken, the second series of the show will be available to buy on July 25th.

THE MIDWICH CUCKOOS FLY IN ON AUGUST 8TH.
‘The Midwich Cuckoos’ is a sci-fi drama whereby all of the titular town’s child-bearing aged women inexplicably fall pregnant. As these women give birth, Midwich begins to realize these children are unlike any other. Each child resembles their mother. They have their mother’s DNA, but with alien additions. And some male, implying a Y chromosome. The government takes an immediate interest and imposes secrecy, paying the parents for their cooperation. The series was first shown on Sky Max and stars Keeley Hawes and Max Beesley. The series is available to own on August 8th.

TO BE CONFIRMED
That’s not all, folks. We await the confirmed release dates for the following films and TV shows. But we are assured that they will be available before the end of September.
DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA
The sequel to the highly acclaimed TV series and the first movie, ‘Downton Abbey: A New Era’ will be heading our way soon. The plot this time follows Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham (Dame Maggie Smith) when she announces that she was gifted a villa in the south of France many years ago and intends to give it to her great-granddaughter, Sybbie.

ELVIS
This musical drama from Australian director Baz Luhrmann had film audiences around the world singing their hearts out. The film, starring Austin Butler as Elvis Presley and Tom Hanks as his long-time manager Colonel Tom Parker is an extravagant affair. And for the final hour and forty minutes of its almost three-hour runtime, the film really soars. Butler gives an almost certain Oscar-winning performance as the king of rock and roll while Hanks should be nominated for best-supporting actor. It’s not without its faults but is a must-see movie all the same.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU, LEO GRANDE
‘Good Luck To You, Leo Grande’ is a 2022 British sex comedy-drama film directed by Sophie Hyde and written by Katy Brand. The film stars Emma Thompson and Daryl McCormack. It has been roundly praised by critics and the subject material, following subjects such as male and female sexual repression amongst others, is handled with care and sensitivity.

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION
The climax to the ‘Jurassic World.’ trilogy and the culmination of six films that started way back in 1993 with ‘Jurassic Park’ Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard once again star with support coming from original stars Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum. The film does have its moments but ultimately, what should have been an incredible finale to the series fails to stick the landing. At no time are we amazed as we should be at a film that is a damp squib. But it has made its money at the worldwide box office. And we have been assured that while it ends the new trilogy, more movies in the franchise will be made in the future.

LIGHTYEAR
‘Lightyear’ is a prequel from Disney/ Pixar that follows the real origins of the ‘Space Ranger’ toy featured in the ‘Toy Story’ franchise. Chris Evans replaces Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz Lightyear in an enjoyable animated family film that doesn’t outstay its welcome. It is fun for the whole family, even if it doesn’t live up to the standards that the first two ‘Toy Story’ films set.

LONDON KILLS: SEASON 3
‘London Kills’ is a British police procedural television series. It centers around an elite murder investigation squad in London, headed up by DI David Bradford (Hugo Speer), an experienced detective whose judgment is called into question following the unexpected disappearance of his wife. The first two seasons of the show have been broadcast on BBC1 in an afternoon slot while this third season has yet to be shown on British television.

WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING
‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ is an American mystery drama film, based on the novel of the same name by Delia Owens. The plotline of the film follows Catherine “Kya” Clark, an endlessly resourceful young girl who grows up in a North Carolina marsh. Abandoned by her parents and older siblings in the early 1950s, Kya learns to survive on her own. She is taught to read and write by her friend Tate Walker and falls for him, but is left behind once again when he goes to college.
Chase Andrews is a quarterback who draws Kya into a tryst with promises of marriage that never materialize. After Kya ends their relationship, Chase attempts to rape her and she narrowly escapes. Then, while she is away, Chase is found dead and Kya is engulfed in a murder trial, with the evidence against her seeming insurmountable. The film is due for release in cinemas on July 22nd and is due for home entertainment release by the end of September.

TOP GUN: MAVERICK
We waited thirty-six years for a sequel to ‘Top Gun.’ And then Tom Cruise pulled this out of the bag. After being delayed for two years, thanks to the Covid pandemic, the film flew into cinemas. And then decided to soar higher than it was ever expected to. It became the first film starring Tom Cruise to go over the magical $1 billion mark at the world’s box offices. And it deserved it. The film is one of the only movies I have ever seen that has garnered a full five-star rating from me. Children of the 1980s will lap this up like a kitten with a saucer of milk. It will also introduce the new generation to ‘Top Gun’ and is guaranteed to blow them away with this brilliant sequel. Cruise returns to his possibly most famous role as Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in a sequel that will have those who saw and loved the 1980s original film smiling from the start. And yes, it really IS that good!

As you can see, we have an abundance of top-quality entertainment heading our way. I’ve already added over half of the titles that are upcoming to my must-buy list. You can guess which one leads the list! But no matter what your tastes are, there’s something for everyone heading to home entertainment very soon. So, the question is, what will YOU be buying on home entertainment? The choice is yours.
