The Oscar-winning Canadian composer returns to compose the main theme to Prime Video’s The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.
Fantastic news has emerged from the halls of Tinseltown. It has been confirmed that the Academy Award-winning composer Howard Shore is returning to the Shire once again. He will be composing the original main title theme to the upcoming Prime Video series ‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power.’ Shore has won Oscars for his scores for ‘The Fellowship Of The Ring’ and ‘The Return Of The King.’ His return is great news for fans eagerly awaiting to see what the new series contains. While Shore will compose the main title theme, Bear McCreary will be composing the full episodic score for the series.
Set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, the series is based on author J. R. R. Tolkien’s history of Middle-earth. It begins during a time of relative peace and covers all the major events of Middle-earth’s Second Age: the forging of the Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the last alliance between Elves and Men. These events take place over thousands of years in Tolkien’s original stories but are condensed for the series.
‘The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Power’ will emerge from Middle Earth exclusively on Prime Video on September the 2nd.
