Crunchyroll announces tickets are now on sale for the UK and Ireland release of Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO which launches in cinemas on August 19th.

Calling all Anime fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland! This one is for you. It has been announced today by Crunchyroll and Toei Animation that tickets for their new movie ‘Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO’ are now on sale. The film will be on general release on August 19th. However, the film will be receiving exclusive previews in cinemas on August 17th and 18th if you can’t wait that long.

The film will be available in both an English dubbed version and a Japanese language edition that will feature English subtitles. The film will also be opened across the world and on all continents. And the film will be released on several UK-based IMAX screens, though this will only be the subtitled version. This marks the first-ever globally-distributed cinema release for Crunchyroll.

Today, Crunchyroll and Toei Animation have officially launched ticket sales for Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the newest film in the worldwide anime blockbuster franchise. The film will be available in both English dub and subtitled and will be screened in the UK and Ireland cinemas on August 19 with tickets on sale starting July 22. Dragon Ball Super: SUPER HERO, the second film in the Dragon Ball Super franchise, opens in cinemas across the globe in all continents. With a general release on August 19th, exclusive previews are available in the UK and Ireland on August 17th and 18th.

This is the first truly globally-distributed theatrical release for Crunchyroll. Internationally, the film will be distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment. It will be available in Japanese, with English subtitles, and a full English dub. The film will also be released in selected UK-based IMAX® cinemas (sub only).

THE SYNOPSIS

The Red Ribbon Army was once destroyed by Son Goku. Individuals, who carry on its spirit, have created the ultimate Androids, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. These two Androids call themselves “Super Heroes”. They start attacking Piccolo and Gohan… What is the New Red Ribbon Army’s objective? In the face of approaching danger, it is time to awaken, Super Hero!

The film, with full commitment and deep involvement from Dragon Ball’s original creator Akira Toriyama, has the legendary manga creator behind the film’s original story, screenplay, and character design. Additionally, the film will be directed by Tetsuro Kodama and the Japanese voice actors for the film include Masako Nozawa (Gohan, Goku, and Goten), Toshio Furukawa (Piccolo), Yūko Minaguchi (Pan), Ryō Horikawa (Vegeta), Mayumi Tanaka (Krillin), Aya Hisakawa (Bulma), Takeshi Kusao (Trunks), Miki Itō (Android 18), Bin Shimada (Broly), Kōichi Yamadera (Beerus), Masakazu Morita (Whis), Hiroshi Kamiya (Gamma 1), Mamoru Miyano (Gamma 2), Miyu Irino (Dr. Hedo), Volcano Ota (Magenta), and Ryota Takeuchi (Carmine). The English voice cast will be announced soon.
