Phase 4 of the MCU ends this year. Phase 5 is announced. And the first movie of phase six has been revealed as Marvel brings the house down at San Diego Comic-Con!

If there’s one studio that is guaranteed to bring the house down at any Comic-Con, it is Marvel. All those assembled in Hall H were expecting some great announcements, some new trailers, and possibly a few surprises. They were not expecting what they got. Marvel completely blew the roof off of Hall H with their reveals. You think you can’t get any better and then they deliver this. What Kevin Feige has unveiled is nothing short of incredible.

We now know that Phase 4 of the MCU is ending this year with the release of ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ We now know what to expect with Phase 5. But we also now know what will open Phase 6. And the content is enough to keep us glued to Disney+ and our movie theater seats for the next two years. And Feige informed the world that phases 4 to 6 will be collectively known as ‘The Multiverse Saga.’

First up was the reveal of the first poster for ‘Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania.’ The film will be the first entry in the MCU phase 5. Paul Rudd lead the line at the panel where a small amount of footage was shown to the audience. He will be joined in the film by Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne / Wasp and Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, taking over the role from Emma Fuhrmann. Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, reprising his role from ‘Loki.’ And it has been revealed that Bill Murray has been cast in an undisclosed villain role. And MODOK will also appear in the film.

The film is going to be very bittersweet. With the release of the trailer, we now know the fate of T’Challa, played by the late Chadwick Boseman. Although we still await to find out who the new Black Panther will be, the trailer gives us enough to know that the character will live on. One shot of the trailer is particularly heartbreaking and upsetting. Although the same effect was used in ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’, this time it has more of an emotional aspect, due to the passing of Chadwick Boseman. The film opens on November 11th.

Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M’Baku, Okoye, and the Dora Milaje, fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross and forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.

We wanted it, and we’ve got it. Charlie Cox is officially back in the MCU as Matt Murdoch/ Daredevil. He will appear in his own 18-episode series that is set to debut in the spring of 2024. Named ‘Daredevil: Born Again’, Cox will return to the role he made famous on the Netflix show ‘Daredevil’. But before that, he will be making his return during the series ‘She-Hulk: Attorney-At-Law’.

Speaking of She-Hulk, she also featured in the announcements on stage. A new trailer and poster were unveiled for the series. But as well as Charlie Cox returning as Daredevil, it was also revealed that Benedict Wong will return to the role of Wong and make an appearance in the show. The story follows Jennifer Walters, who has a complicated life as a single attorney in her 30s and also becomes the 6-foot-7-inch green superhero She-Hulk. Tim Roth also appears as Emil Blonsky/ Abomination. The show premieres on Disney+ on August 17th.

Phase 5 of the MCU will also feature some more returning favorites alongside some new and exciting projects. The first is ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.’ Once again, the worst heroes in the galaxy will return. When a powerful individual comes for one of their own, Peter Quill / Star-Lord must rally his teammates and recruit the god-like enemy turned ally, Adam Warlock, for a mission that, if not successful, could lead to the end of the guardians as they currently exist. It has been confirmed that the film will be the end of the line for the Guardians in its current form. ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ is set after the events of ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ and The ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.’

A sect of shapeshifting aliens, the Skrulls, have infiltrated all aspects of life on Earth. That is the premise for the show that will feature Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury. Also starring in the show are Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill. Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, and Don Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes/ War Machine. The series will debut in the spring of 2023.

The show sees Maya Lopez return to her hometown where she must come to terms with her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace her family and community. Alaqua Cox returns as Maya Lopez / Echo after the character was introduced in the series ‘Hawkeye.’ Charlie Cox is also confirmed to appear as Matt Murdoch/ Daredevil in the series, which will debut in the summer of 2023.

Tom Hiddlestone returns as the lovable Loki in the second season of his spin-off series. Not much is known about this second season of the show as of now but it will debut in the summer of 2023.

Brie Larson returns as Carol Danvers/ Captain Marvel with Iman Vellani, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Mohan Kapur reprising their respective roles as Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel, Aamir Khan, Muneeba Khan, and Yusuf Khan from the ‘Ms. Marvel’ series. Teyonah Parris returns as the adult Monica Rambeau from ‘WandaVision’ after the character was previously portrayed as a child by Akira Akbar. The film will be released on July 28, 2023.

Mahershala Ali takes over the lead role from Wesley Snipes in the reboot of the classic Daywalker character. The movie is currently due to start shooting later this year ahead of a November 3rd, 2023 release.

Dominique Thorne stars as Riri Williams / Ironheart in the series, based on the character of the same name. The series is currently filming ahead of a fall 2023 release.

Originally titled ‘Agatha: House Of Harkness’, the show has been retitled ‘Agatha: Coven Of Chaos.’ Kathryn Hahn returns as Agatha Harkness, a witch who masqueraded as “Agnes”, Maximoff and Vision’s nosy neighbor within the fictional sitcom in ‘WandaVision.’ The show will be filming shortly ahead of a winter 2023 or early 2024 release.

There are several other projects that are currently in the works that have yet to have many details mentioned.

The return of the classic character, now in the form of Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Captain America. The film will follow on from the series ‘The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.’ We can expect to see the film sometime in 2024.

A movie based on a comic book of the same name. Actors who have portrayed villain-type characters in past MCU projects are expected to be part of the film. Again, no real details but I think we can expect Daniel Bruhl to return as Baron Nemo in the movie.

The new lineup of The Avengers will be taking to the screen on May 5, 2025. No news as yet as to who will be starring in it or the plotline of the film itself. However, the big news is…

A second film featuring The Avengers will be released barely six months after ‘The Kang Dynasty’. The film will be released on November 8th, 2025, and will end Phase 5 of the MCU.

If you thought you had time to get your breath back, think again. What is incoming for Phase 5 of the MCU is incredible. It will blow our minds and our socks off. But the first film of Phase 6 has been announced. And that film is…

No news yet on the cast, the writer, or the director. But It has been announced that the reboot of the ‘Fantastic Four’ will be hitting theater screens on November 8th, 2024.

What Marvel unveiled at San Diego Comic-Con is out of this world. Our favorites are returning in one shape or another. We have new characters and stories to watch and experience, And the fifth phase of the MCU is looking incredible. With the news of the ‘Fantastic Four’ coming at the end of 2024 to kick off the sixth phase is enough to get every Marvel fan excited.
