The Rebellion begins exclusively on Disney+ on September 21st. It is almost time to welcome back Andor.
Of all the recent batch of new ‘Star Wars.’ movies, one stands out as being the best of them all. That film is ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’ Not only did it capture the spirit of what’s gone before, but it also had bags of heart behind it. One of the film’s main characters was Cassian Andor, played brilliantly by Diego Luna. His performance as the Rebellion hero was enough to gain him a significant following from the fans. And his eventual fate was all the more devastating, even though we probably knew he wouldn’t survive the film.
But fear not. He is the star of his own series, coming soon from Disney+. The series, ‘Star Wars: Andor’ is a prequel to his exploits in the movie. And it follows Cassian as he makes his way towards becoming a Rebellion hero and legend. A new trailer for the show has been released. As well as a new official poster. Let’s see what Cassian Andor will be getting up to:
Beginning five years before the events of Rogue One, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters during the time that a Rebel Alliance is forming in opposition to the Galactic Empire. One of these characters is Cassian Andor, a thief who becomes a revolutionary and eventually joins the Rebellion.
The series will debut with a three-episode premiere on September 21st. The series was due to debut on August 31st but has been delayed for an unspecified reason. But as you can see from the trailer, it looks as if we are in for a brilliant ‘Star Wars’ show. With the addition of Stellan Skarsgard plus the returns of Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera and Genevieve O’Reilly as Mon Mothma, this could be possibly the best show set in a galaxy far, far away that we have seen thus far. And it could possibly top ‘Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi’ and ‘The Mandalorian’ for entertainment value. We will have to wait and see.
‘Star Wars: Andor’ will begin the Rebellion with a three-episode premiere exclusively on Disney+ on September 21st.
What did you make of the trailer? Does it excite you with its throwbacks to Rogue One and the feel of the show? What are you hoping to see from the series? Why not leave us your thoughts in the comments section?
