Marvel Studios blows the roof off at the D23 Expo with the news about some of their upcoming content!

The one panel everyone looks forward to at Disney Expo is the Marvel Studios one. And this year is no exception. Marvel always drops the biggest news imaginable at the expo. And they’ve done it again this year. Rumors have been swirling around about what they would announce and show this year. Would they be announcing a ‘Scarlet Witch’ solo film? Would we discover who has been cast in the ‘Fantastic Four’ reboot? Could we discover who will be playing the mutants in the ‘X-Men’ reboot? All those questions and more have been answered, Join us as we find out what Marvel has unveiled this year.

BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER

The panel started with exclusive footage for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.’ Director Ryan Coogler says he is still in the editing process and cutting room with the film at the moment. And it was revealed that the film focuses on the rest of the world trying to capitalize on getting Wakanda’s resources when they’re at their weakest. It was also described that Wakanda is a very different place following ‘Avengers: Endgame’ with much better-evolved technology.

The show had a brand new logo revealed on stage. Anthony Ramos plays The Hood in the series. The show will explore the battle between Magic and Tech. And Ryan Coogler is executive producing the show.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA

Next up was the third film for Paul Rudd as Ant-Man. The film will link directly to ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.’ Paul Rudd said the new film is unlike anything you’ve seen before from the Ant-Man, with the small characters doing something so big. Randall Park also returns as Jimmy Woo in the film. New footage was shown exclusively to those assembled. It showed Scott Lang having to do a heist in the Quantum Realm for Kang or else he won’t get Cassie back.

WEREWOLF BY NIGHT

A special Marvel Studios presentation was announced. Named ‘Werewolf By Night’, it will be directed by Michael Giacchino, who has composed scores for many Marvel movies including ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’ It was revealed that Gael Garcia Bernal and Laura Donnelly are the leads of the project. And it is a black-and-white retro horror mystery. The original special will premiere on Disney+ on October 7th. The trailer for the project was also revealed:

SECRET INVASION

The first trailer for the series ‘Secret Invasion’ was unveiled.

ARMOR WARS

Don Cheadle was on hand to discuss ‘Armor Wars.’ The actor revealed that the series begins filming next year. And it will be set after ‘Secret Invasion.’

LOKI SEASON 2

It was revealed that Ke Huy Quan has been cast in the second season of the Tom Hiddlestone-starring show. The actor joked on stage “Wait, this isn’t the panel for Indiana Jones?” And it was revealed he will be playing a TVA employee. Exclusive footage from the second season was shown to the audience.

FANTASTIC FOUR

Kevin Feige disappointed the audience as he revealed there would be no details except for confirming Matt Shakman will be directing the film for its November 8th, 2024 release.

ECHO

The spinoff from the ‘Hawkeye’ show has finished filming. It was revealed that Vincent D’Onofrio returns as Kingpin in the show with a bandage over his eye.

DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN

Actor Charlie Cox said he is excited to start again with Daredevil with “double the amount of time”. The show will begin filming in 2023 and will consist of 18 episodes.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: NEW WORLD ORDER

A new logo for the film has been unveiled. Tim Blake Nelson will return as The Leader in the film and will be the main villain. Carl Lumbly will also return as Isaiah Bradley. Danny Ramirez will also return as the new Falcon. Director Julius Onah described the film as a paranoid thriller.

THUNDERBOLTS

It has been confirmed that Sebastian Stan and Florence Pugh will be leading the series as The Winter Soldier And Yelena Belova respectively. The team also comprises Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, Val, and US Agent. It was also confirmed that Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Hannah John-Kamen, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, and David Harbour will return in their respective roles. Filming will begin next year.

THE MARVELS

The panel ended with ‘The Marvels.’ Brie Larson, Iman Vellani, Teyonah Parris, and director Nia DaCosta all took to the stage as they unveiled the first footage from the upcoming movie. The film focuses on the 3 heroes as they keep trading places with each other every time they use their powers and must team up to fix their problems.

And that is all there was for the panel this year. I’m sure some people out there will be disappointed not to hear any news about the projects they were hoping for. But with what has been revealed, there is plenty to look forward to from Marvel Studios.
